Hello all:

I am doing an internship in NYC for the summer, and I am living in a college dorm. It is a single room. On Sunday, I moved in. While I was waiting on a line in order to get my room key, an attractive RA walked by and said "hi". Afterwards, I got my key and started to bring my stuff up from the curb. When I got to my door, the door would not open. So I went back down to the RA room. I told the head RD about the problem. She looked at the key envelope, and she said that she made a mistake. The attractive RA laughed, and said this is "our first screw-up of the summer but it will not be our last." She told me that she lives on the same floor as me. She then asked me what my name was. Then she asked me where I went to school, and what I was doing in NYC. I took these questions as positive IOIs, especially in NYC where everyone is in a rush and nobody engages in small talk.

Tonight, I was walking to the gym, and I stumbled across a girl that went to my college. I asked her if she goes to my college, and she said "yes." I had never spoken to her back at school. She was with another girl. We both talked about our NYC summer plans. Then she introduced herself, and her friend did the same. This gave me the go sign. I asked for her number in order for us to experience NYC nightlife together. I handed her my phone, and she programed in her number. She said have a good night!

Back to the attractive RA. I have not seen her since the move-in. We have a dorm meeting tomorrow night. I figured that I would ask a question about whether they have a communal fridge because I only brought a chest freezer. Then I will linger around, and I will ask her if she wants to grab a drink with me this Friday. Should I be this brazen after only one interaction with her? If she says no, then I will just text the girl from my school that I met tonight. I will ask her the same question. Any advice on how to build more attraction with the RA will be greatly appreciated!

Yea ask her out for a drink, everyone drinks in college unless their a shut-in. How else can you build attraction if you can't get her alone? I would say "get a drink with me and a few friends", when she shows up and it's just you say they flaked at the last minute. Be careful though dorms can be like work, with sexual harrassment shit and you don't want to be known as the creeper or have to take some bullshit feminist sensitivity class.

I dunno man. I treat RAs like waitresses they are being paid to be friendly to you. They are there to befriend you and help you through the university experience. The personal questions are questions pretty much anyone at uni will ask you. Also RAs usually have to sign written paperwork to get their bang on with a student. Either way. Try to get her to ask personal questions that aren't "what are your major, where are you from, what do you want to do" try to do some light touching and see if she touches back. Either way good luck.

that's what i was thinking, the day bang model may need to be modified a little for college where everyone asks those questions

You know, there is really no "special trick" to attract a particular type of girl, in my opinion. One should be dynamic enough to adapt to the nuances and subtleties of each situation, which ofcourse comes with experience. Although, the basic key rule in every situation is to keep dropping baits till she keeps biting them while you escalate with each bite. In many situations you can preemptively weed out no-goes without risking your reputation by picking up on key elements during any convo.

So, in this particular situation, if I were you, I wouldn't probably risk asking her out directly coz if she turns down she'd tell other people and you might be labeled as a creep. I'd say you should start by having a regular small talk and try to ask a borderline personal question like "What are your plans for the weekend", and calibrate your response based on hers. If she doesn't say anything specific but is generally upbeat in her replies you could casually ask her to "show you some cool spots". This way, if she agrees - its a date! If not, no harm done to anyone. Ofcourse this is keeping in mind that you're bothered about your reputation for whatever time period you're living there. If not, just go direct like a mofo!

I appreciate all of the great posts. I just got back from the floor meeting, and the attractive RA was MIA. I will wait to feel her out before I ask her to show me some cool places around the city. lurker123123 and WesternCancer made great points about RAs and waitresses asking specific questions to their clients. Therefore, I will wait to see if she expresses more interest when I see her around the dorm. If not, there is no shortage of attractive, DTF women in NYC!

How about befriending her and just plowing her friends? I agree its almost like a work situation where you deal with this female constantly and she is paid just to be nice. But even stuff like drinks, I was trained to be one of these RA's type things for frosh and a lot of times you just go along ,and do things like drinks and shit with the people just to be a good chum. But no harm in playing it from a different angle to keep her guard down and see where it leads. She may just say yes because she's an RA... but...if you show her a good time I don't think she will give a fuck and like any typical broad with a little liquor in her will be DTF.

I've found that to be a pretty solid move when new to an area or place like school/work/organization. Every time I've done that it worked out where the chick ended up being my biggest advocate and removing a ton of the bitch shield type behavior from not only her friends, but other people we would meet when we were out.

I really suggest everyone have a couple good female friends you don't try to sleep with. of course the key is that you actually like them as people and get along well with them too.
