The Ultimate Restroom/Shower/Clean Body Thread

I think maintaining a clean and slick body is up there with dressing well and working out for our player lifestyle. Who the hell wants dry, snake skin and stanky breath? There are many threads covering different topics so I thought it would be a good idea to make one convenient one for all of these things. I'm going to post up what I use and also links to other threads so you have more options and opinions. Please post up other products if you think mine suck, are bad for the body or just want to add on to the list.

Shampoo - I keep my hair buzzed so I always buy the generic Head & Shoulders that fights dandruff. I don't know if I should be using something else to make it more shiny or whatever. I don't see why since my hair is so damn short. Here is a Shampoo Thread if you actually have hair
http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-12114.html & also
http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-12133.html

Q Tips - they all work the same for me and I got big ol . I just use one as soon as I get out of the shower. They work best when your ears are nice and wet. Ever met someone with brown shit in their ear? It's fucking disgusting.

Razors - I have a baby face and only shave once a week so I just use Mach 3 disposable razors.
Here is a thread on Straight Razors
http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-11578.html

Shaving Cream - I used to buy that cheap dollar store shit until Tuth put me onto this. I highly recommend trying it out. It can be found at Whole Foods.

Scissors- I use a pair of small scissors to keep my unibrow from growing like Teen Wolf, nose hair, and annoying hairs on my chest that look like pubs. Also work good to maintain your facial hair with.

Facial Masks- I would of called someone a faggot for using this before I discovered this forum so you know it has to be good. My pimples are under control and my face looks so smooth and clean after using this. There's a reason girls go get facials and all that shit. I put it on once or twice a week. I tried ACV and broke out all over my forehead so I suggest using clean water instead.

Nose Strips - My nose used to covered in blackheads until my mom suggested I try these. You can breathe a lot better [Image: exclamation.gif] and your nose will look smoother and cleaner. I use them about once a month. I recommend putting them on right after you shower from using the facial mask when your pores are wide open. There's a few diff brands, but they all work the same. Get the cheapest.

Toothpaste - Not sure which one is best. Someone else needs to recommend the best product(s).

Toothbrushes- I usually get the cheapest ones that have good grip and are Soft. My gums bleed bad if I use Medium or Soft. I try to switch it out every month or 2, because I know it can't be good for your mouth and breath if you're using it for 6 months or a year. You can find them in 5 packs for cheap.

Mouthwash - hydrogen peroxide. Nothing else compares.

Face Wash - This is kind of hard to say one thing works for everyone because it ain't like that. I've had pimples for about 10 yrs now and live in a very, very, very humid city so I'm always sweating but this combination has helped keep them under control.
I use this in the morning. You can get it at Whole Foods. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PRODUCT! This is some good shit for your face.

I use these 2 at night.
[Image: clean+and+clear+cleanser_06232010224949.jpg]

Hand Soap - I just get the cheapest product. I don't like my hands feeling super soft but that's just me.

Lotion - I use this on my feet and rub my hands down with what's left over. There's probably something better out there, but some girl left it over so I've been using it since. Lubriderm Lotion for Normal & Dry Skin (fragrance free).

Chapstick- http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-6519.html
Ali recommended Burt's Bees chapstick and it seems to work better than everything else I've messed with. I haven't tried Vasline but I'm happy with Burt's.

Floss- Go with Johnson & Johnson. I've tried the cheap shit and it doesn't work as well.

Deodorant - Roosh and many others have recommended Baking Soda
http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-4519.html
I haven't tried it, because I don't wanna leave my deodorant stick. This might be the best thing out there (Tuth recommended)

I sweat like a pig so I need something extra strong that will hide the funk. I've been using the Speed Stick gel bar since middle school, but I still sweat when I'm out in the sun [Image: sad.gif]

Soap I HATE body washes and Ali recommended this since Irish Spring was drying me out like a sssssnake. It works great and I refuse to try anything else. Dove Sensitive Skin bar soap.

Soap: Check out DR. Bonner's...stuff it legit, feels and smells great and it's pretty cheap.

"My gums bleed bad if I use Medium or Soft."

Try oil pulling with virgin coconut oil: http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/oil_pulling.html

My gums have been bleeding every time I brushed my teeth for many years, no matter how often I brushed or flossed. After one session of oil pulling with coconut oil, it stopped almost completely, after the second, it did stop completely. I've never seen anything else even come close.

Can't believe baking soda didn't get a mention.

Also a counterintuitive tip - shower skipping. Showering every day actually does more harm to your skin than good. Cracked (Jezebel) wrote an article on it.

Thank you so much for starting this thread! It helps that everything hygiene related is in one thread now. OP do you recommend using that acne cleanser for my back as well? I realize when I eat oily foods I break out like crazy. Not to mention all the scars on my back.

I'm a big fan of the avalon organic line of products. For hand soap I recommend a tea tree oil based natural soap, it's anti-bacterial, ant-septic, and easy on hands, can also be used on the face as well. My favorite tooth paste is a natural whitening toothpaste called "power smile" from jason organic. I use organic whitening toothpaste and mouth wash, and I've gotten compliments on my teeth.

Biz - does that shampoo help with dandruff and oily hair? I don't know why, but my hair is real oily even when it's barely growing out. I need some acid type shampoo that will keep it dry and prevent dandruff flakes. Does that soap dry you outl ike Irish Spring?

That's nasty dulst. I look and smell like shit if I skip a day plus my face breaks out bad. I don't even think I would skip days if I didn't have to worry about pimples. I feel dirty when I don't take showers. What are you supposed to do to prevent your feet and pits from stinking? They WILL smell like shit after a day of no shower time even if you're laying in bed all day.

Alphsaspiration - I've never tried it on my back, but you should go out in the sun and let it hit your back all day. It dries them up nice and quick. I've been going outside on the weekends with no shirt and my back cleared up real fast. I have a pizza back as well. Edit - I just took a piss and checked my back out....damn! My back hasn't been this clear since I was in middle school. I've been out in the sun every weekend for the past month so get out there ASAP.

Ognorcal - what else does Avalon make? Does that toothpaste prevent cavities? I'm trying to get the best paste to prevent dentist vists and also to whiten teeth.

It's also a good idea to use nail clippers. Don't be like most guys with Flinstones feet and bit up fingernails. I am also trying to find a product to put on cuts, burns, etc to prevent scars. I heard Aloe Vera works but there's so many diff products. This would come in handy if that's the best choice, because it also heals your dick after a rough session.

Your toothbrush largely won't matter. Just be sure to reach all surfaces and the gum line. Dentist checkups twice a year- damage can occur below the gumline without you knowing- although bad breath is a sign of decay.

Floss- I like Oral-B Glide deep-cleansing floss. You should floss once a day- it doesn't take that long.

Toothpaste- I use Colgate Total. I'm 31 and my teeth are perfect with no cavities. I do not use mouthwash and I brush in the morning and at night.

For the older players- I noticed some women get microdermabrasion done about once a month- and it means they do not need to wear foundation. I wonder if this is a tool for men once they reach their 40s- does anyone do this?

Using Qtips isnt very healthy for your ears. An eardoc once told me that you shouldnt insert something smaller than your pinky finger into your ears. Qtips can cause ear infections, I had em and they are not nice.

I would add tongue scrapers. Works wonders on getting all that crap off the top of your tongue that brushing doesn't get, which in turn reduces bad breath.

It's hard to explain, but after like a week your body gets accustomed to the change.

You can also use oil pulling with coconut oil to get the same result. It kills all the bacteria in your mouth that causes that buildup.

Interesting you say that. I drink a lot, but I noticed once when taking a month off alcohol (something I do regularly to exercise self-control) and working out a lot as well as eating healthier, I didn't need them at all. I tried using them to clean my ears, and the q-tips would never be dirty.

When I went back to drinking again and taking less care of my body, it was necessary to start cleaning my ears again.

I read somewhere that as long as you are healthy, the body keeps the ears clean on it's own. In my experience, this just might be true.

I think Vaseline might be better than Burt's Bees. Tried some earlier and it worked great. I've seen real small containers that will fit in the pocket if you don't want a huge bucket of it.

An exfoliating agent is also important to maintain young skin as it gets rid of the first layer or two of dead skin cells, leaving new bright looking skin from underneath. it also is very effective in getting rid of blackheads. i use paula's choice 2% beta hydroxy lotion twice a week

Is there anything good for blackheads/whiteheads NOT on your face? I use stuff from a range called Pores No More for my face, and it isn't so bad now, but i get abundant blackheads on my back, chest, and upper arms
Annoying as hell because most products are formulated for facial skin. I used the same stuff for my torso as my face but didn't have any effect, and a bottle doesn't go that far when used everywhere else.
Oh yeah- Dr Brandt makes that range I named. Pretty good, but expensive, and for a use over several weeks. Pores No More Cleanser and Moisturiser and also Vacuum Cleaner lotion.
I recommend, especially if you've had blackheads for a long time, like me.

I love using MARVIS toothpaste from Italy. Lots of different flavors, seems better quality than American brands.

Bought a bar of soap from a Portugese company called Claus Porto. Smells really awesome. Also a fan of Caswell Massey.

For grooming, I use Baxter of California. Awesome line all the way down. They have a nice Italian Lime-Pomegranite body wash which is a staple for me.
