Joining the Kool Kids Klub in college

@Torontokid
I'm on a co-op placement in Kitchener this summer. I'm going to force myself to go to clubs when I have nothing to do weekend nights rather than just video game

@Number7
Yeah, you pick them up - lift with your legs (make sure you don't bend your back, it could cause injuries), and then run [Image: biggrin.gif]
/sarcasm

@Skrolls
That is actually a very accurate description of Waterloo ! It's usually the fob Mainland China ppl, kool cantonese kidz from Markham, and smart nerdy white guys

As an asian kid I always found white girls more intimidating than "coethnic" girls.. guess I better get used to it or move out of canada heh

@Speakerbox
Any advice on getting into the Laurier crowd? I've heard that your campus is alot more chill and has that "high school" environment. Maybe I should take some of the joint business classes in Laurier they probably have group projects and stuff

Frats seem to be a small part of Canadian universities.. I'm going to try it anyways though

Is Phil's the Laurier campus pub? Have you ever went to Caesar's or Revolution?

Indian TROLL??????????

What's up with this "Indian Troll" radar sensitivity going off so easily, or "Threads taking a nose dive", are you serious with this shit? Do you seriously expect some guys who are just getting into game from a state of total confusion, frustration and probably past failures/destructive relationships to be at the same level of game-thinking as a guy with 1000+ post on this forum? Give me a break!
Way to make new comers and probably many long time lurkers feel insecure about asking questions and participating, jesus.

I know exactly what OP is talking about/going through as i have realized the importance of social circle game in a social-circle dependent city (Toronto) at my 4th year, however by then it was SOMEWHAT too late, so i had to salvage whatever was left, and pretty much start from zero.

Kosko and TorontoKid's advice is solid and i support/agree with both of them. OP you're lucky you're in Waterloo, as it is literally a University party town, especially since Wilfrid Laurier University is there as well and let me tell you that extremely hot girls go there!

Try hanging out at Laurier, make connections and party there. Trust me, all the 8s/9s i've known in the past went to that school or Western University in London, which is still not far.

Again, you're lucky to be in Waterloo, and if you do get a chance to study for a semester or take a post-grad program in Toronto, you'll appreciate Waterloo even more!

Cheers and good luck!

Hey Torontokid, if your looking into a business program, i would definitely recommend the Laurier's business program (BBA). Ranked one of the highest in Ontario (I think its top 3) but you have to be willing to put in alot of work for it but the payout is amazing. If you have yellow fever, your going to love this place. And just down the main street is a great party school in Laurier. There is even a small community college down the ways a bit too.

Cozo's, I think the easiest way to join the Laurier crowd is through the girls you talk to. I believe our ratio on Campus is something along the lines of 3 Girls to 1 guy, so just come on campus one day and start approaching. Once you establish a few friends along there, the guys almost always help out a brotha (Thats what I've found, but i'm also 6'3 275 (only 36" waist though). If you get asked what program your in and such, you can either dodge the subject or say you go to waterloo and are looking for your friend somewhere (great easy way to open, asking for directions)

Sorry about the 2nd chain post, but I didn't see your question regarding Phils / Ceasars / Rev till now.
We have a campus bar called Wilfs (within the Laurier campus) and a club just a staircase above called the Turret. If your from waterloo you have to have a guest sign you in from Laurier to get in to either of them

Phils. its 2.25 Drinks (In ontario, the average price of a drink round my town is about 4.75-5.50), so do the math in terms of white girl wasted people everywhere. People go to Phils to get slopshowed. I've personally found that picking up in Phil's to be very streaky. Personally I prefer to build a foundation with girls at a pre drink then dance with them at Phils, but girls are definitely receptive to cold approaches at Phils, as they are just hammered and want to show off. Although it's hard to say who is DTF and not because of all the fattitude cock blocking walrus creatures that are around who aren't getting the attention they believe they deserve. For all the really wasted people, the bouncers do a great job of keeping it safe. Music is done by day (Monday is Top 40, Wednesday is Hip hop, Thursday Electro, Friday / Sat is top 40, Sunday is Retro night) I love the place so I'll give it 5/5 Stars

Ceasars. I live literally 15 seconds away from it on Lester St. I didn't go to it at all this year, but I know that if you go on non-event nights there, expect there to be a TON of brown people. It's just not my scene in that sense, but the brown guys cockblock EVERYONE, to make sure that NO ONE gets laid, and then brag about what a great night they had. However these are the nights you build rapport with the staff for event nights when the place is absolutely crazy. On non-event nights it i'd give it a 2.5/5 and on event nights 4/5

Rev. Just your basic club. Huge place, lots of chicks every night, you can approach like a machine there due to it allowing something like 400-500 people in there, drinks are normal priced, but its about a 5-15 cab ride there depending where you live. Sadly I can't say too much about this place because I'm always way to drunk to game when I go here. Overall though, if you used right, this place could be a goldmine.

I wasn't sure whether to PM you this or not, but I've seen there are a number of Canadians in this thread so I figured everyone could use some knowledge on the Waterloo area! (I do not know ANYTHING about the Waterloo pub and club itself (I think its called the Bomber?)

Sorry for the 3rd straight post, but I hands down agree with Skyroll.
Day game will be king here. All girls want a relationship so they can have something to brag to their friends about. Don't forget, for as many ackward guys there was in high school who thought that suddenly that they were in University they would get laid, there are the same thing for women. They just don't want to meet that guy at a bar, they watch too many movies about love n shit.
Ok I'm done for now... Cheers

Jesus... 3 to 1? It's like the opposite here in my program [Image: tongue.gif]

Is phil's also guest sign in required?

Thats funny actually, I also lived on Lester st. last term I probably saw you somewhere at one point, in a bus or something. I've been to Caesar's briefly for Athletic Banquet.. But whenever I walk by it always seems like its a Browntown event.

When you approach random chicks during the day, where are some places you ask them out to? Do you bring them to a lounge or something?

I'd rather spend some time in Montreal during summer instead of braving the cold there.

Speakerbox, this is what a dude on the forum wrote about the scene at Laurier. How accurate is it?

Quote: (09-27-2011 09:42 AM)Mace Wrote:

The other college campus down the street has a very different social dynamic. Bigger varsity sports scene, bigger frat presence. 90% white. Lots of school pride, more of a party school reputation. Lots of good looking girls, but also lots of athlete types and good looking dudes to compete with. About 55% female/45% male. If she's halfway decent and not a recluse she's got good looking young college guys hollering at her in her social circle. A non-college guy would have a harder time penetrating this scene.

torontokid, before you make a decision I think this post would be insightful to you (it looks like he's contrasting Waterloo and Laurier here):

Quote: (09-27-2011 03:18 PM)Mace Wrote:

College campuses are a bubble. Every school is different, every school has a reputation, every school attracts a certain type of personality.

Before you start gaming on campus, think of the personality type of the girl the school would attract. Every high school senior makes a conscious decision about the college she chooses to attend. Think of what would compel a 17 year old girl to choose this school in particular. Academic prestige? The party scene? Close to home?

Earlier I described two very different college campuses - Campus A and Campus B. Let’s look at Campus A. What's the sort of girl that would choose a heavily ethnic school with a good academic rep, but a minimal party scene? The studious, somewhat shy wallflower from nearby small towns. The “invisible” girls. These college girls are approachable and down to earth - they haven't evolved bitch shields yet as they haven't been conditioned to a lot of attention from men - at least not from smooth talking big city players. These girls don't go out much because they're repulsed by immature drunk douchebags; they spend their Friday nights working on lab reports or watching Twilight. They're also the sort of girl that'd commit to the first decent looking guy that asks her out (usually a guy she met in class). If you ever see a dorky looking guy holding hands with a cute 20 year old, this is how it happens. And they’re usually engaged / wifed up / out of the market by 25.

The college girl in Campus B was popular and outgoing and very social in high school - the social butterfly/queen bee.  She grew up in an upper middle class suburb, the classic daddy's girl. She has a huge circle of friends who are just like her and sluts it up on the weekends.  She's vain and superficial and cliquey wants a guy who'll make all her friends
jealous. The guy has to be near the top of her social hierarchy and fit the ideal mold - tall, muscular, athlete. The further you deviate from this mold, the harder it will be to get in with her. As an older outsider who exists outside this hierarchy you’re SOL.

Campus B has the cheerleaders and the girls in student council from high school. Campus A has the girls in the science decathlon. Campus B has too much competition from other equally social, outgoing guys. Campus A has shy, introverted geeks. Which campus is easier to game?

I wondered why I was having so much more success with day game on Campus A than Campus B, despite spitting the same game. Once I began to figure this out, everything else fell into place. It wasn't necessarily me, it was the environment.

Yes, Campus B has better looking girls, but Campus A girls will prove much easier to get with and less of a pain in the ass to date. And a skinny tight-bodied 20 year old is still a skinny tight-bodied 20 year old with the lights out.

I'm turning 19 soon. Thanks for the advice, Western looks right for me. Rich kids = lots of networking possibilities.

My friend goes to a very well off campus with lots of rich kids in the US and it definitely helps since he has access to lots of bored rich kids who want to make money and are willing to invest their money.

We even had one guy interested in an offline venture we were pursuing there and he was interested in talking to his father about investing in it.

@Skrolls

Thanks for the heads up.

I'm not tall(Around 5"9-5"10) but I'm good looking according to some girls. I get eye fucked a million times more in Atlanta than in Toronto.

I prefer the middle/upper class sluts over more unattractive girls that schools like U of T attract(in general). As far as I"m concerned the more American a school is the more I prefer it(I enjoy hanging out with American guys more since they're crazier and more fun to chill with). Not to mention the fact that American girls also like me more than Canadian chicks. This isn't just me, this American girl I was gaming at Maddy's also said that she preferred the craziness of Americans. There's a distinct difference in cultures, especially when comparing TO to the US. As someone who's lived in both the US and Canada there's something very generic about most guys and girls I meet in Toronto.

UWO to me seems much more suited to my personality than Waterloo or U of T. I also don't like Asian girls in Canada(They're nothing compared to the ones in Bangkok).

My only worry in UWO is to ensure I don't slack on the networking with guys. I'm also considering joining a frat which has chapters in the US so when I fly down there to visit my friend in Atlanta I'll have hookups.

torontokid, agree on all accounts. Western is far enough away from the GTA sphere of influence to be infected by the anti-male/anti-social virus of Toronto.

Having said that, I believe on another thread you described yourself as a skinny Indian kid with glasses and a slight Indian accent. My concern is you may have a harder time penetrating (pun intended) the party scene at Western. The generic white Canadian suburban princess "party girls" that gravitate to schools like Western and Laurier overwhelmingly go for guys who fit a certain mold - tall, muscular hockey player bro-type - think Sidney Crosby. No offence, but I never seen them with any brown guys. Now a tall brother like Speakerbox might get a pass - he'll benefit from Canada's overexposure to American media, and Canadians outside of Toronto have practically no exposure to black people so he'll pull due to sheer novelty factor.

Unfortunately, a guy like you will be subject to negative stereotyping. You need to distance yourself from your "Indian-ness" as much as possible to get in with the party girls at Western. Lose the accent, lose the glasses, get muscular, get a cool haircut and get a white name (I know way too many brown guys named "Jay" and "Sean" and "Neil" and the most popular Indian guy now is Jay Sean - coincidence?) Basically, you need to come across like a tanned white guy.

Another option if you want some ass is to go for the hippie/nerdy types who aren't as herd-like and judgemental as the sorority/cheerleader types, and care less about your "social value." There are fewer of these types than at the sorority/cheerleader schools like Western and Laurier, but a lot more at Guelph and Waterloo. The downside is they're generally not as good looking.

So you may glamorize Western right now as the land of milk and poonani, but don't be shocked if you're in for a rude awakening.

I ditched my glasses a long time ago, changed my style and I'm also good looking. The Indian accent is being taken care of, I've set up an appointment for speech therapy treatment. I have a skinny frame but there's a decent amount of muscle on it that makes a v-neck look good. Me a year ago and me now are completely different.

Just to be safe, I'm doing a 30 day night-game challenge when I turn 19 here in Toronto.

As for my name, the last thing I"m going to do is get a "white name". Come on, I have too much pride to ever change my name up. Also, its easy to remember.

Skrolls man, hate to break it to ya, but I'm a white ass mother fucker. In fact, I felt very white typing that line.
Umm the way I would think Laurier is in terms of game... is pretty standard everywhere.
If you have game, you WILL pull.
I LITERALLY had 0 game coming into University. Now I am still progressing, but I'm not the sad little beta wildabeast I used to be.
Now in terms of racially profiling such, I do not have much to say will contribute positively due to my lack of experience with it, however, I can say this with certainty. If some of the girls are from Markham or Brampton, they are almost ALWAYS open to brown guys just due to their upbringing with them.
I actually really liked Skroll's post about Campus A and B, I never put it into perspective like that at all. Now if you apply some of that to this scenerio, Campus A (being waterloo) will yeild you more results because it is more ethnic, and Campus B (being Western) will have alot more competition with barriers you can't control (dumbass white girls)
Skrolls what you said at post #37
I would say there are a ton of frat-like guys, but no real frats, umm.. to compare to American Frats, they are pretty much just like Children's treehouses in a backyard. I would say that the population of white people is determined by faculty. BBA is predominately Brown, Sciences Whites / Browns / Asian and Arts being Whites. Overall, I'd say the population is 50% White, 25 / 25 % Brown / Asian / Other mixes.
In terms of the attention all the females get, I also think that is what you would expect at any school... Girls getting lots of sexual attention and just using it to stoke their ego. I know a few girls in my social circle who go out pretty much to reject guys then complain about how they are single or about how much they love it.

Yes, with game you will pull. Some of my chodey friends have gotten ONS at Uni. Its a 100 times easier than cold approaching some girl because she already has trust in you.

University requires very little game when you live on the campus. Frosh week everybody comes in nervous as hell. As long as you are a guy who takes the lead and introduces himself to people you'll be fine.

All this talk about brown guys not pulling is BS because most brown, asian, white guys have no game especially some 18 year old kid in University. Any guy with game who looks decent will pull in an environment with hot drunk chicks wanting to fuck. The whole racial stuff is bullshit(as long as you are not a walking stereotype).

Thinking back, the post I wrote above is BS, if frosh week was right now I'd be fine. Most guys are coming in with no idea of what to expect. Most of them are too scared to approach without being drunk because they're in a new environment. Through the frosh week events itself it wouldn't be too hard to get 5-10 numbers a day and pulling from parties.

Sorry Speakerbox, when you mantioned "help a brotha out" earlier I took it literally to infer you were black.

But understand that as a 6'3" 275 white guy you already fit the aesthetic ideal of your typical whitebread Canadian college party girl (tall, white, muscular/athletic). You have a lot of "perceived value" on sight. A short, skinny Indian virgin with an accent has no "perceived value" with blonde college party girls and will have an entirely difference experience.

I have a feeling that torontokid may be in for a rude awakening when he reaches Western so I hope he takes this to heart.

Now you're just trolling.

How many 6"3 guys are there? They are a small portion of the population.

Most guys are around my height. You seem to a subtle game denier troll+ race troll as shown by your thread on "percieved value". Just because I said I was Indian and therefore you assume that I'm this guy-

Haha wish I could say I'm fit, working down a mean ol' beer belly I acquire over the academic year (if I had to guess, I'm around 25% BF, but I got thighs the size of Alabama and Shoulders to match, I can post a pic if people want, but i doubt the interest is there). Yes I completely he idea that I have more perceived value on sight due to my genetics, however that is not something I attribtue to most of my bangs, I would like to think I did something haha, and its nothing I can control so I just learn to deal.
I don't think it will be much of a rude awakening as one expects. If he (toronto) day games, almost all girls although they may not be interested, almost always are polite to you, as they don't want to hurt your feelings. Now in a club environment, all bets are off, and I get absolutely slaughtered from time to time so I can only imagine what goes through other people.
Toronto, you'll be 100% fine. Understand how pathetic most guys are in HS going to Uni, and you have this forum and your own experiences to draw on.
And on another note, I may be up in Kitchener / Waterloo in the next few weeks if anyone is around and wants to hang.

Umm normally my approaches are just post lecture, I just go and say hi, you like the prof and kinda just begin walking where the girl goes. If she goes to go to down King, yeah, I would go to booster juice though because i love that shit. Normally if I am trying to insta date so to speak I just begin walking and talking with her around King, maybe to Morty's then around somewhere through a neighborhood or so.
To be honest I don't really think about it, I don't set a real plan because its all during the school year so I don't think much of it.
I'd say just pick something that can work with your vibe / personality. I can't say I have any place on lockdown like some of the members on here.
