not sure if it was mentioned in this mega thread, but is there a decent travel juicer, or a juicer that is somewhat portable that anyone could recommend?

I need something I can fit in a suitcase along with a lot of other stuff that won't be too heavy or take up too much space.

A solid, reliable juicer will weigh up to 10 kg, which is too heavy and impractical to lug around unless you stay put in one location or don't have any luggage constraints.

If you do that, you might as well just buy one used. If you're in a major city, you'll find basic, spinning blade juicers for ~$50 in the local classifieds. Leave it behind when you leave. If you're staying over 3 months, get a masticating juicer.

My problem is leaving to a new location after a couple of weeks, staying in accommodations without kitchens, or being in smaller towns where it's impossible to find juicers.

Also, if you're in Kiev, check out freshfactory for amazing fresh juice dirt cheap. I go daily when I'm in Kiev.

No, you'd have to take a greens powder with you for traveling.

Get something with a bunch of goodies in it like spirulina, chlorella, wheatgrass, etc.

Great thread. I'm not too big on supplements so doing this is a natural multivitamin.

I personally love lemons, kale, spinach, blueberries, and carrots.

the best smallish juicer is the oscar neo/oscar vidia (new model). got one of these for weekly juicing and couldn't be happier, practically indestructible and makes a very smooth juice. i think anything more than this is overkill unless you're jucing a crazy amount. it looks similar to the cheaper omega model listed above, but the new vidia model (da-1200) has a wider chute. that's the one annoying thing about a small model as you have to do a lot of chopping and cramming down the hole.

Ive been juicing carrots, apples and ginger.

I keep about half of the pulp and mix it in with my juice when its time to drink. Dont want all that fiber to go to waste.

I'm starting this soon, always been a fan of juices/smoothies but after reading through the ingredients of some of my favourites it's shocking (but not surprising) how little veg is included in most of what's sold in the supermarkets here. One 'green juice' in the UK advertising as a fruit/veg mix is actually 80% apple/pear juice...

I don't have the time or dedication to buy all the fresh ingredients so have ordered cold pressed juices online - £95 for a 3 week supply, 5 x 500ml per week. It's expensive but means I will definitely stick to it and can have a really good variety of different juices (they have 8 to choose from, most around 70-80% veg content).

Might progress to buying a juicer eventually but this seems like a good way to start.

Haven't done this in quite a while, but I just brought home a brand new sparkling Breville Juice Fountain Plus from my beautiful neighborhood Bed, Bath & Beyond with its precision-engineered cart escalators and a svelte black girl cashier who could go straight into modeling. I have two giant (at least 4.5 lbs and probably closer to 5) Chiquita pineapples (because there was no Dole in the supermarket) chilling in the fridge, plus a couple grapefruits and limes. I'm going to prime my juicer with a pure pineapple juice and mix in two heaping tablespoonfuls of organic sunflower lecithin, a combination which will make for a happily astounded young gal when she is ready to gulp down a load later this afternoon. Going to be juicing some deep and serious greens as well when the summer really gets underway but this Memorial Day weekend is all about sweetness.

Feels good to awaken this venerable thread from its all too extended slumbers.

Today I made the following sex/semen juice:

4 medium to large organic beets (got them at my superb organic foods / health store in a bunch with stems and leaves attached; I threw away the stems and leaves but you can juice them as well) -- the beets are great for erectile quality
6 long organic celery stalks -- for semen volume, strength of load/orgasm
1/4 organic pineapple -- for taste and texture when she gulps it down
Fat thumb of fresh organic ginger root, I looked for the smoothest and yellowest root I could find -- this is great for libido in general

I added two tablespoons of Udo's Oil. I would have added a little vanilla extract as well (to further enhance the taste) but couldn't find any that was non-alcoholic.

I stirred all of this -- it was about 3 full glasses all told -- and drank about half on ice and refrigerated the rest in a glass honey jar. It was intensely delicious -- as refreshing a beverage as you can have on a hot sunny day. And its consequences in a few hours will be sweeter still.

There are few things better than slicing up a large fresh beet to juice (something you need a good sharp knife for). When you cut it open, the inside is the deepest red you'll ever see, a red that would be the envy of some old Flemish painter; a red so deep that it's embarrassed by its own redness, like a girl's asshole that attempts to secrete itself away, embarrassed by its pinkness. It's a sight and a color that satisfies the eye completely.

Co-sign on the beets. A couple summers ago I would over-use the dad joke of letting "the beet drop" when making my morning greenie in front of my 21-yr-old cutie pie gf. She would laugh everytime, but later came to realize it meant she was getting the bottom knocked out of her that afternoon.

Great recipe. I make a similar one, only thing is I add about half a cup of pomegranate juice, which boosts testosterone, to it per serving. Only downside is that it a lot of sugar.

Here is a great -- insane, to be perfectly honest -- post-fucking juice:

2 ripe organic mangoes (should be peeled)
1 large organic grapefruit (peeled as well)
thin thumb of fresh organic ginger
about 1/6 slice of a large bright organic lemon (as fresh as possible), can be juiced with rind but wash it first.

This makes exactly 2 servings, after juicing stir well and pour over 5-6 ice cubes each in a lowball glass. It will make yourself and the bitch very, very happy. The lemon is key -- the way it cuts into the sweetness of the mango is paradisal. The velvety texture is unforgettable.

Do people store their juice for a day or two more?

I’ve been reading that you lose nutrients if you don’t drink it immediately. However, it’s a pain doing a batch every day...

I bought a $10 juicer 2nd hand. It's a good juicer and name brand too, but I have to say it's a huge mess cleaning up. The juices I've tried are mostly peaches, plums, apples, bananas, mangoes, raspberries, strawberries, watermelon, and kale. Watermelon juices the best along with bananas and plums. The only problem is what to do with all the pulp after juicing. Sometimes I put in a metal pan and boil it to get as much juice content as possible, and then I put it in a strainer and drink it like a tea or put it in the refrigerator. You can also use some of the pulp as a sorbet especially if it is peaches or strawberries. My best suggestion for those of you wanting to get a juicer is to get a stainless steel one without a plastic cover. I dropped mine on the floor and I got a big crack in it. It still works though.
