I've helped this Belarussian dude in his job search in the USA and we're on friendly terms.
He's a bit older, and hasn't been to Belarus in a while..but he's got a wealth of cultural knowledge and he's good with the ladies.
He's an industrial guy (welder) so he know's industrial cities well and the mentality of the people.
I've been trying to get advice on girls, and he's been helpful...even if a bit unclear.
Advice so Far:
He said getting flowers is good for a date. Also, a small present (nothing expensive- he suggested a keychain from Poland)
As to "Why are you Here?" he said I should say I like the university there and its got a quality faculty for learning. Everyone likes having their city complimented.
other advice-
keep it simple, interview style questions etc.
belarussians are a very calm and peaceful people-very true, I'm looking for a calm and quiet girl and this is exactly what they have.
What kind of questions do you guys have that I can ask him?
I'll post his answers here.
