Operation: Oslo

Operation: Oslo

First and foremost, this is one of the most challenging trip reports I have written, mainly due to the timing of the trip. I was warned that Eastern week would be dead as most people flee to their cabins and the ski slopes. I figured how bad can a European capital be in April? I wasn’t prepared for how desolate the city was from Thursday through Sunday of Holy week. I didn’t take Norwegians for a religious bunch like Italians or Eastern Europeans during Orthodox weekend. My suspicion was confirmed that they really aren’t that religious; however, the city basically was shut down for 4 days as many left for vacation outside the city.

In January, Strelka and I visited Iceland for a long weekend and were thoroughly impressed with the Scandinavian beauty. Neither of us pulled in Iceland during this short trip, so we felt like we had some unfinished business with the Viking women. Unfortunately, our trip was scheduled at the worst possible time. Therefore, consider these impressions based on our experiences, not being fully representative of what Oslo has to offer.

Costs

From the U.S. and Europe, you can purchase cheap flights on Norwegian airlines. My return one-way ticket to the U.S. was only $150. However, once you arrive in Oslo you will find that it is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Taxi prices are the highest I have encountered. It was $30 for 5-minute taxi ride. A taxi from the airport to the center will run you almost $500. Fortunately, the Airport Express train is about $12. Make sure to stock up on boozes at the airport. Alcohol is very expensive and during the holiday, the hours to purchase it were significantly limited.

Here is a list of prices:

Breakfast (1 person) – $28
Dinner (mid-range 1 person – entry) – $40-$60
Liquor (higher-end bar/club) – 1 shot of vodka ($10-$12)
Beer (higher-end bar/club) – ($8-9)
Cigarettes – $11
Chicken (2.2lbs. / 1kg) – $18
Cheese (2.2lbs / 1kg) – $13
Assorted Fruits (2.2lbs / 1kg) – $3-5

Logistics

The center of Oslo is very walkable. It is advisable to rent an apartment within a ten-minute walk of Karl Johan’s Gate or in Grunerlokka, which is the Williamsburg of Oslo with an emerging Hipster scene filled with cafes, bars and coffee shops. I rented an apartment in Grunerlokka for $60 per night. Strelka rented a pad for around $80 closer to Johan’s Gate. Johan’s Gate is much more touristy than Grunerlokka. However, the only tourists we saw were a few beat Asians. My apartment was about a 20-minute walk to Central Station and 4 stops on the tram, which was very convenient.

Women and Sex Culture

With Norway under my belt, I have now been to every Scandinavian country. As many of you know, I sing the praises of Russian women for their beauty and disposition. Moscow is my favorite city in the world. However, I rate the faces of Scandinavian women the highest. We met one of the hottest girls I have seen in my life. Her Scandinavian name literally meant “Goddess of Youth.” Her parents couldn’t have selected a more appropriate name.

Their faces are softer and gentler than their Slavic counterparts. Norway is no exception. I saw some of the most beautiful faces in Oslo. If you are into blondes, I would add Norway to Iceland and Sweden as the top countries. What they garner in points for their facial beauty, they lose in femininity. You will not see many girls in high heels or dresses like in Eastern Europe. Girls are also thicker and more muscular than in the Slavic world.

Oslo is the New York of Scandinavian. If New York is Slut Island, Oslo is the Viking capital for easy sex. This is predominantly a one-night stand culture. I heard it from women and men alike of how liberal the people of Oslo are when it comes to sex. People bang, then bang another two or three times, before ever setting up a first date.

I was able to attend my first after party in Oslo. It is well established that you should invite a girl back for an after party. The after party is a euphemism for an invitation to hook-up and it is the cultural standard getting things on.

Game

Americans and Brits are well-received here. Norwegians have the highest command of the English language for any non-native English speaking country I have been to.

Due to the lack of quantity and cold weather, I only managed a hand full of approaches during the day, which all but one resulted in a number close. There is huge potential for Daygame here. Locals do not approach during the day. Johan’s Gate and Grunerlokka are solid for street approaches. There are also a few malls close to Central Station which I saw the highest quality.

I had the impression that a man with solid Daygame could kill it here. I cannot wait to return to run some proper Daygame. The only drawback is that setting up dates from Daygame will be costly.

Nightgame is very viable for fast sex. As previously discussed, women frankly are sluts. Fast, casual sex is the norm in Oslo. Norwegian men do approach at night, but only after they have a buzz. The men are tall and good-looking, but a player with solid Game will do quite well in Oslo at night and won’t need to be concerned with the competition. Clubs usually close between 2am. and 3 a.m.

Venues were limited during the holiday. We went to Jaeger Bar twice and also checked about John’s Bar and Lava club.

On our last night, we gave gutter game a shot. Similar to Iceland, Oslo can be quite good for meeting girls on the street after they are already drunk.

Conclusion

Do not come to Oslo during Easter! With that said, I was able to capture my Norwegian flag and had a nice make- out with a second girl. Not bad for a poorly planned trip. I saw enough that I want to return to Oslo and also hit Bergen and some cities to the north.

Strelka and I were invited to an Easter dinner followed by a club and an after party, which was one of the most bizarre evenings I have had in recently times. The Easter party was at a girl’s house whom I had met before. It started out as a small get together with her friends and family. After several hours of eating and drinking we hit the club, only to return for the afterparty. The afterparty turned into a booze and coke fest attended by all walks of life ranging from worldly professionals to derelict drug dealers. During the course of this evening I witnessed the best and worst of Scandinavian culture.

The people of Oslo party hard. They have adapted their party culture to minimize cost by pre-drinking parties and after parties. This is a great place for a man who has looks, Game and a decent bankroll to crack into some high-end talent. Budget travelers should stay away as the high prices will limit your ability to have fun.

Social circle makes a huge difference. I was introduced to several hot girls from the girl that I knew. Make local friends and it will pay dividends on receiving invitations to pre-drinking and after parties.

Shout out to Pornopung, cool local guy with great Nightgame. He was generous with his knowledge on Oslo. I recommend hitting him up if you are in Oslo. Also, Bateman and Riskitbiscuit whom I did not have a chance to meet, but they provided me with valuable intel via pm.

Until next time,

Dantes
