Okay, fine. I did make a statement, but notice I wrote

so my statement did not contain 100% confidence. In essence, I was throwing up a potential question.
Argue against this if you want, but this was my intent. Perhaps my wordsmithing isn't up to par, but arguments on semantics detract from the discussion.
