Went to a latin club for bachata night last night and got froze out every time salsa came on. Seemed like every third song was salsa.
Looking to do a Medellin stint soon (if not Mexico or Central America). Can't get away with just knowing bachata there for night clubs.
Pity, I was just getting to like bachata and getting good enough to impress gringas and surprise Dominicanas.
Also agreed that you don't actually need to be that good at a dance, or dancing in general, to be considered "good."
