I think one possible advantage of LinkedIn is that you only have your profile pic on it and that's all, so so long as it's a strong profile pic, there's less wherewithall to instantly disqualify yourself with some other lame photos on your profile, or evidence that you're a total beta orbiter doofus, like probably 80 to 90% of guys online are.
Also, it shows you're taking charge of your career in the first place, by having a profile on there, which shows a certain level of ambition.
Combine ambition with strong profile pic and alpha intent, and you have possibilities.
