That's one hell of a write up sheesh
I had a blast in CR. Yes the coffee is top notch. I brought back big $2 bags of it as gifts to friends and family. You absolutely have to go rafting. Great experience. CR has a mix of locals(Ticas) and Colombian girls. Also prostitution is legal so lots of hot 18 year old hookers walking around like its no big deal.
We went to Baldi Spa at the top of a volcano. Hot mineral water spa with a dozen pools and swim up bars. Full of girls.
We also went to the west coast to Jaco(pronounced Hocko) Beach. Really nice. You can take 45 minute cab ride there from SJO airport.
I agree about the food. It was great. Try the ceviche and the local fruit. Water Apples, mangos and bananas. Good stuff.
I got by on the cheap. We stayed with a friend's family in San Jose for free. We also got round trip tickets for $200. 5 hour direct flight from NJ/NYC.
