You might fool a cop in person, but it's highly unlikely a court of law is going to rule on text messages on a phone instead of subpoenaing the actual records from the cell phone companies involved. That's not realistic.
Crazy interaction. I can definitely see why the NFL let him go. He shouldn't have even been talking to her if she was bringing up that she never consented (alleged).
