Here are some interesting studies about the ancestry of Mexicans of different regions:

Unsurprisingly, they find that people around Chiapas etc. are more indigenous, and people in the North are more white. Like Mexicans needed scientists to tell them that.
Off the top of your head, what would you guess? 50/50 Indigenous/European?
