Biggest 3 venues

Zouk

Zouk is infamous throughout Asia, or so Singapore claims, and there is some merit to that. It’s almost its own mini nightlife district (which is good because there’s nothing nearby) with a maze of 2-3 notable clubs. Practically anyone can get in, has a mix of 30/70 foreign/locals, and above average electro music with superb sound system. I do like the excessive grinding here, nice to be reminded of the US occasionally, except when security intervenes which there is a lot of for some reason. Some nights it can get packed to comical proportions but everyone is having a blast, and is also where Singaporean women come to display their accessories they buy from Orchard Road which I like to imagine they throw away by the end of the weekend. May get shut down mid-2015.

Attica

The biggest club in Clark Quay, although kind of a pain to get in due to overcrowding, but probably the hottest girls in the entire area. I think the owner is Indian so lots of smoking indian chicks end up here if you want that flag, there’s no better place in the world to do it. I’ve only been here twice with friends so didn’t do much picking up but because there’s 2 floors with an outdoor smoking area in-between, it’s pretty obvious what the only available tactic is. The place fails hard at being seductive with these model dancers on the 2nd floor, but at least they try.

Kyo

Kyo’s the most modest of the 3 clubs, and one that has been growing on me - Ladies nights are absolutely epic here. Although just 1 underground floor it’s got a massive dance area and like Zouk, is very good for dancefloor game though more tame than Zouk. I usually start off with their beer pong setup and pull girls in, over the course of an hour you can have a handful of red-faced cheerleaders that follow to the dancefloor. Sadly I’ve never been here past 3am which is when I heard things get really crazy, on the other hand never gotten shot down for being aggressive...

Top 5 venues for pickup

Marina Bay Sands (Ku de Tat)
One of the few venues that actually plays decent DJ music at the top floor of a hotel that mirrors the rep of Burj Al-Arab, but way more exciting. Surprisingly I don’t find many of the dudes hitting on the horny talent out here, these clowns claim there’s some hookers but everyone pretty much ignores them. It’s a really carefree vibe up here which is opposite of what I expected due to it being the top touristy hotel (once pulled after 30-40 mins, although lots of cougars in the way) so definitely make it a must.

Pangea
Despite its upper-class rep, this Pandora’s got receptive locals and contract girls who are just sitting on couches waiting to be approached. It’s got a soft environment, there’s no real dancefloor although the music is fucking awesome, and even the dudes are fairly aimable with no cockblocking going on. Having a high-energy vibe helps here as it differentiates you from the rest, and you’ll have to compensate for not being loaded. Anyone with at least intermediate game can at least get a date lined up here

Pump Room / Highlanders
This duo is notorious and one of the first things you see in Clark Quay. Connected by a hallway, they’re pretty much the same deal and probably the same owner, so if one sucks you can just cruise over to the other. They alternate between DJ sets and live filipino bands and unsurprisingly filled w/ filipinos and other SEAsians looking to mack on older guys. It’s free entry and low standards but I find a couple gems here nearly every time I go. Great place to pull from another venue though, girls are always willing to tag along because it’s zero investment

BQ Bar
The entirety of boat quay riverside is shut down at 3am, except for this place. My personal favorite bar in SP and probably one of my favorites ever. Awesome American music with a hint of hip hop. Although it’s nearly half (!) filipino and some nasty lookers, I’ve pulled decent japanese, filipinas, chinese from here, and all rules are thrown out the window. Beware that it’s pretty small though and the Singapore barcrawl crew often ends up here. Quoted as a “pickup place” so I think people are catching on..

Zouk
I may catch of a lot of flack for this, but truth must be said - Zouk beats out a vast majority of venues for cold pickup. The fact that people are wasted throwing up on the street as early as midnight is proof of what goes down here, and thanks to its international reputation you’ll see plenty of East Asian chicks here, and the cover charge ($35+) weeds out the shitty minorities thus retains all the hot Filipinas and Indonesians here. You can actually regularly get approached by girls, the key is to hang around the perimeter of the main club dancefloor, though I’ve also gotten into a fight here too haha. Stay away from the dancefloor itself (it’s a sausagefest) unless you’re in the side-club, in which case the girls are noticeably younger and always has a handful of stragglers at the end of the night.

Stay away from:

St James Power Station
Dempsey Hill
Duxton (flooded with xenophobic locals)
Marina area in general
Orchard Towers (it can be fun for the stories)
Holland Village
Cheesy festivals
The Butter Factory
Mink, Fenix room, the Dom Lounge, any other clubs run by Singaporean owners

Daygame in general. Everyone is typically on the move during they day which is fine because SP is a great place to relax anyway.
If you’re feelin lucky or just want some eye candy, hit up the malls at Orchard Road or Marina Bay, or even Clarke Quay during the day.

Day 2’s

Singapore is hardly a romantic city but there’s a couple refreshing pockets so check back here if you get a day 2 or pipeline. Boat Quay and Arab District are gritty parts of SP so chose them for their atmosphere since feels more like Thailand etc

Boat Quay - Mad Men Attic Bar, Lucky 69
This duo of bars are located in Boat Quay, one of my favorite sleazy districts in Singapore and probably a good place to get a hotel. These 2 spots are pretty active and have pool table, small live band, and generally have easy-going crowds. Attic Bar has a sweet view of SP and both are just a 2-min walk to the river.

Arab St. - Blu Jaz, Wine Bos, The Beast
There’s actually tons of surprisingly spacey bars in the Arab district which has a nice festive atmosphere. Blu Jaz is easily the biggest one and actually occupies across multiple buildings, Winebos has a solid deal with all-you-can-drink wine for 2 hours (sometimes girls get it for free). The Beast often has shows on the 3rd floor and has awesome staff, as well as lounge on 2nd floor. Actually pickup in Arab St is a blast and there’s tons of hot malay chicks to get numbers with on the side.

City Hall - Chijmes
Chijmes is a plaza located right in the downtown area, a giant underground grotto but still a little flashy, with a European vibe. Has a giant church (not even sure if functional) surrounded by a handful of clubs, but also a few dinner joints in the center. Actually I have only been to the clubs but the restaurants have really romantic lighting and surrounded by classic architecture.

Special thanks to the RVFers that have come out here and made it an awesome experience!
