Exactly. It's like mixing dog breeds. German Shepherds and Cocker Spaniels are both beautiful dog breeds. If they procreate, their offspring may not be very beautiful.
A dog's breed contains 1,000s of years of artificial selection, optimizing for certain traits. If you mix dog breeds, you may get a dog that has neither the optimized traits of the mother nor the optimized traits of the father. Of course, there's also hybrid vigor. Sometimes, genetic experiments work amazingly well.
Yeah but I don't think heritability of intelligence works that way. The mating of a hot 95 IQ woman and a 130 IQ man is more likely to produce offspring which are smarter than average than two hot but average people. Of course two 130 IQ people will do better, but in both cases the effect is not dysgenic.
In the end, intelligence is more important to the success of humans than good looks. So any mating opportunities for smart people are eugenic.
