It's somewhat genetics, too. Most guys aren't given good genes for legs, and have to really work at it.
I'm the opposite, was given buff legs, but ZERO upper body. Have to work my ass off in the gym for every millimeter of chest growth or abs strength, but all I need to is ride a bike and my thighs will be fucking jacked. I refrain from doing more than 225lb in squats because if I did I'd have to buy new pants
