I would say height is very important, as it's one of the first things girls pickup about you and is probably the most common prerequisite women have for men (surmountable by fame, game, or money, of course). The average height in America is supposedly 5'9"-5'10" according to what I've read, but I would guess it's more like 5'11"-6' for white American males. I notice that I subconsciously think of any of my male friends under 5'11" as a "short guy" (who may even still be taller than me). The average height of girls is only 5'5" or so, but at night they often wear heels which gives them another 3"-5" typically.
