Maybe have a look at bar work other than teaching to supplement income if going to australia since english teaching wont be an option?
We've decided we don't want to work on game while learning a new language, so I think Australia is it. Also, some acquaintances there could help us out at the beginning.

I've seen so many Aussies and Europeans temporarily staying in Canada; they find all sorts of jobs... sales, store clerks, promoters, babysitters (yeah). It's hard for me to believe we can't get similar jobs there. I can't see how restaurants or coffee shops can get long-term commitments from their native employees any more than from travellers.
