I like going to see bands play. We have a number of good places here that tend to bring some eclectic crowds.
The last time I went out was because this great-looking blonde invited me to a celebration she was having, and we ended up sitting next to each other talking about stuff. She admitted she and her boyfriend were on rocky roads.
Here's the thing. My voice, perhaps just because of it's tone/pitch is negated in these places. Nobody hears me. You'd think that'd be a good thing because I could get closer to her and speak in her ear, but it feels like I am yelling and losing out on the opportunity to make eye contact and send non-verbal signals.
When I was dating an ex, this was no problem because there was no need to try and make small-talk, but picking up someone where my voice isn't is tough shit.
