The patriarchy giving all the power to men is completely false, and it's really due to the fact that people still (in two thousand thirteen the year of our based lord) have absolutely no idea what power means. Power is the freedom of choice, the freedom of control in your life. For men, feeling obligated to earn money that someone else ends up spending while they died sooner in life is not a good definition of power.
So feminists trying to save other women from "oppression" by forcing them into a different lifestyle is ludicrous. In the most egalitarian industrialized societies (Scandinavia and other western European countries) there is the least amount of women doing engineering and IT jobs. The places where women grab the most of those manly jobs are in places like India and other countries with severe poverty.
It all comes back to that power of choice. Are women in India empowered because they are working in IT jobs more than anywhere else? No, because they didn't choose these jobs out of interest, they were forced into them for the paycheck. In that sense, those women probably have a true understanding of what it means to be a man.
