inner game issues.

inner game issues.

I store a large majority of my body fat around my abdomen.

That means unless I work hard to get under 15%, I will always have a small gut.

I'm in the high teens right now and eating more to maximize muscle gains, and because the rest of my body is lean, it's harder to give a look that shows I'm getting fat as I gain. However, the gut is still there.

Oddly enough it's just me and critical parents that view this as a negative. Not that I care about what they say. My friends tell me I should put on muscle and not worry about more weight and I do get compliments on my body from girls.

Also, I'd like to add that these 'inner game' issues aren't necessarily weaknesses. It's just about adaption. For me, it's about accepting my body type and maybe calibrating how I maintain my body composition. I've gone a long way towards acceptance.

For the OP, maybe it's about realizing certain things about your appearance that aren't as bad as you think. It's your self-image creating negative thoughts in your head. The book Psycho-Cybernetics covers self-image extensively and is a great read if you are interested. It's the foundation for a lot of modern self-help psychology that borrowed concepts from it.
