You will do fine in there. Like delicious tacos said, it can be very clique-ish but can also be a goldmine.
I have a friend who has been hitting up this angle since high school. He does well. I have been a couple of times and couldn't seem to get the hang of it hahah
My advice, the girls who are actually "buying into it" are the ones you want to go for. You will be able to easily tell who is there by court order and who is there on their own. Play it up a little like you really want to change your evil-doing ways and these types of girls will be dying to help "save" you.
As has been mentioned try a bunch of different ones. I'm not in CA so can't comment.
