Ignorance is bliss - happiness in America

Political issues and problems with women aside, one of the worst things about the U.S. for me is the fact that once everyone gets past college age and starts working, they pretty much just go to work and crash in front of the TV on their free time which is extremely isolating. Once you get to your mid to late 20s it's pretty much impossible to have close friends unless they're your co-workers. Everyone just kind of has their own little bubble and that's it.

Even if you try to attend bullshit like networking or singles events it seems like the interaction is really forced and everyone is just trying to manipulate each other or show off how much better they are.

No difference to Western Europe and probably many other parts of the world. As you grow older, you become self-complacent and more close-minded. Inertia and a lower drive to socialize with new people are the natural consequences.

I even daresay that it is easier to make new friends at an advanced age in the US than in Europe. America despite all of its grave flaws still possesses a distinct civic culture that gives you a fair chance as a newcomer and that allows you to excite people with good ideas. For instance: Coming from a country where small talk is often frowned upon, I think the general "chit chat"-culture I experienced in the US has an intrinsic value that translates into social dynamics that you can't get in Sweden, Germany, Poland or Russia. In these countries people are more openly suspicious of each other whereas I found it a thousand times easier to quickly integrate into social circles in the US.

Nonetheless, I can only repeat what others have said earlier: Don't immigrate to another country just because of the women. Thousands of stunning models in Belarus and Ukraine while you have set up your location independent business? Fine, but it won't make everything better when corruption, bad infrastructure, shitty weather, boring provincial culture and unfriendly people quash all quality of life.
