3-4x per day. I also add Trader Joes "Very Green" algae/other stuff powder to help overcome the limited variety in my diet.
--one of : (Greens, broccoli florets, green beans) 2x daily with about 25 garbanzo beans per serving for fiber/carbs/minerals
Frozen Broccoli and green beans I prepare by:
Steam for 15 min with 1.5 teaspoons of Curry powder( lowers rate of Alzheimers), 1 tbsp butter, 1 tsp olive oil, salt to taste
--Hard cheese ( not cottage or munster) 4-8 oz most days. This is very satisfying and keeps me from going off diet.
-- About once a week, 1000 calories of nuts ( walnuts are best quality fats, followed by almonds or peanuts)
I love nuts but it's too easy to scarf down 1000 calories in an hour to eat them every day for me.
-- Multivite, Fish Oil capsules 2-5, B12-Folic capsule ( heart health) Vit E, Zinc,
right now I am also on a small dose of blood pressure medicatiion which disgusts me, is why I am losing weight,
and I hope to taper off of it once I am really slim.
Dieting itself is not real rocket science-- caliries in calories out-- but the whole system including the psychology of monitoring it and understanding the satiation-variety-satiety-exercise-information feedback realtionships IS complex.
I've also thought a lot about motivation-food relationship.
Going to have to buy some of that protein powder. All the shit I can find is "mass-gainer" loaded with carbs.
That green powder you're talking about (spirulina?) is pretty awesome, though it's kind of expensive.
With your plan of LCHF, are you intending to do keto, or have you tried the piss test and have dropped into keto? While you do have low to very low carb intake here, if this is what you eat every day you might be in 30 to 50 gram territory. Nothing wrong with that (it's basically paleo), you'll still lose tons of weight, just curious.

Going to give this a try as I want to lose 10 lbs.
How many carbs a day should I allow myself to eat at the max?
Most people are somewhat intolerant to carbs (that's just a fact of life).
There's a sliding scale for how this works that simplifies things -
0 - 30 carbs/day = ketosis *(quick and serious fat loss depending on amount of dietary fat consumed)
30 - 50 carbs/day = lower-carb paleo *(steady fat loss)
50 - 100 carbs/day = paleo/higher carb paleo *(slow fat loss or maintenance)
100-200 carbs/day = standard american diet *(fat and/or steady, insidious weight gain of 1-3 pounds per year)
200+ = inevitable fat fuck disease (IFFD)
With keto, you can do it indefinitely and theoretically be a fat fuck, if you're drinking liters of coconut milk and ghee. The same goes for 200+ carbs per day, if you're somehow immune to hunger and tolerant to carbs, then you can eat a very high carb diet and not be a giant fatass. That's basic macronutrient theory.
If you end up doing this and going full blown keto, 30 grams of carbs per day or under, then be careful going out gaming. If you get pulled over you might trip the breathalyzer on keto, it's happened before.
