I still get why people who get caught in these situations don't just slaves. If they're going to make you a slave to your ex-wife- slavery is not a new thing here, but why not at least try running away from massa?

He could go work under the table for cash in some boomtown in North Dakota. He could walk across the Mexican border and teach English. Hell, he could use American status to run drugs. But at least try making a run and living in a freedom.
