as for why the thunder gave up james harden:
1) kevin martin is an expiring contract - salary cap space
2) they have a lottery coming from houston by way of toronto (kyle lowry trade)
3) several other 1st round draft picks from houston
4) they didnt have the money to pay harden without jumping into the luxury tax (rob pelinka would have settled for nothing less than a max contract for his client)
same presti and his group have done a solid job drafting. and the thunder keep moving on. they might not win this year, but theyre better equipped than any other team to challenge the heat right now.
