Bushwick is ghetto. Brooklyn is easy to figure out. The eastern and northern parts are bad. The west is good and the south up to around Flatbush ave. Queens is a bit cheaper by the way and has or use to have nicer clubs.Queens has almost every ethnicity on the planet living there. Albanian,Romanian, Greek, Spanish clubs. The non artsy areas of Brooklyn are mostly Italians who have not moved out to Staten Island or New Jersey and Russians. The Russians tend to date in their own gene pool or Jewish people(Israelis). Irish have been moving out for last 2 decades to Long island, Queens(Rockaway). Williams burg is Artsy but also has a large religious Jewish population and the Polish population it was once known for has stagnated. New Polish tend to flock to the Russian/EE areas. Williams burg is good to rent if you plan on going to Manhattan a lot.Park slope is the largest Lesbian population in the USA. It is their version of San Francisco. To be honest it isn't the best area to be bar hopping. You be better in Bay Ridge.Park Slope is a trendy area where day game with a dog probably works. Wouldn't know I am not a liberal and don't jive with that type of chick(wiccans, etc lol)
Avoid: Bushwick, Brownsville, East New York, Bed sty,Carnasie(was good 25 years ago) Flatbush. These are areas I was paid to fight crime. You won't want to be there lol.

What about Carroll Gardens, Dumbo, Prospect Heights and Greenpoint?

I asked if it will give him better money/opportunities in NYC vs Chicago.

He said no.

Therefore, the only change is cost of living. So living in NYC is more expensive.

Loads of cash is of course relative, so I'll say saving 60-70% of what you're taking in is stacking loads of cash (assuming you are happy with your current social + sex life).

Your entire 20's and low 30's should be majority cash chasing, not necessarily cash hoarding but that's easier in low cost of living areas.

Guys jet out on these adventures, then come back and make a paltry $80K a year in a major city, missing the major growth years of their careers. Good luck becoming a international player and having F you money on $20K savings a year. No chance. You can easily double up your income from 26 to 30, assuming you remake yourself constantly and take advantage of looking older.

Damn man, the guy works for himself and travels around the world and you want him to suffer like you so he can have fuck you money?

It sounds like he is already saying fuck you by working for himself and traveling.

Yeah, Westcoast.

Quit being a buzzkill and throwing salt on homeboys Game.

You would think this is a "retirement forum" for all your posts. Roll up a jay of some of that WestCoast green and kick back.

Ha.

Ha if anything this should be a dead giveaway that I think Chicago = better place to live versus NYC for a long-term stay. Girls there are better looking + more approachable, slut factor is lower (relative to NYC)

NYC is more of a fast paced bang bang ONS GTFO type of place. So IMHO it is better for a short trip.

2 weeks? = NYC not even close
4 months? = Chicago, better quality if you're willing to put in a date or two. Simple as that. Plus it sounds like he has some sort of inner circle going already.

For what its worth if he wants to go to NYC, brooklyn should be erased from this thread, just live in manhattan and get the real deal. Why go bush league if you're going to go to the big leagues then. But thats another point. All about maximizing your time.
