I went and saw a speech therapist. She gave me some bad news. She said that talking just doesn't come naturally to me like it does for almost everyone else. She said speech therapy wouldn't help because I don't really stutter or anything like that.
How can talking not come naturally to you? That's ridiculous. It's like saying to an able-bodied person that walking just doesn't come naturally to him.
Any problem you have with speech should be possible to alleviate with speech therapy.
That therapist sounds like a dumbass. You should get a second opinion.
I guess it's like a developmental disorder. The words just don't come to mind for me.
That's sad to hear. Your condition sounds a lot like some case of Asperger's Syndrome, but i have heard that even persons with this condition can improve their verbal fluency with training, but i am not really well informed.
Do they give you a name for the problem you have?
