Delayed Trip Report - Puerto Plata & Santiago

Most people stay at all inclusive resorts because they offer such great deals. Airfare, hotel, food and drinks around $100 per person per night.

There is a complex in Puerto Plata called Playa Dorado. There are about 12 all inclusive in Puerto Plata. It was opened the late 1970's. The hotels offer great deals but never put any money back into the hotels. Most of the hotels are closed now.

Punta Cana/Bavaro started building huge new resorts and took all the business from Playa Dorado.

When I was building my house in cabarete, I lived in an all inclusive resort for almost a year. They hooked me up with a good deal. $22 off season and $30 during high season. If I was going to retire, i would think about moving into an all inclusive resort.

Lifestyles offers $22 night specials to gringos, because they are trying to sell vacation packages (timeshares) Its on cheapcarribbean.com
