Haha oh man, that experience pretty much sums up Colorado. The people here, including the girls, are incredibly friendly - almost to a fault. I've lived in major East Coast cities, and it still blows my mind how genuinely nice the people here can be.
But yes, as you said, it's simply not the place for pick up. World-class mountain sport opportunities abound, but I can't remember the last time I saw a 9 out on the town, and I go out four nights a week. However, if you're looking for a 7 that is super sporty and athletic, then this is the place to be.
Colorado: come for the mountains, not for the girls.
