It's difficult to find the breakdown on smaller age groups of people aged 18-25, 26-37, 38-50, etc, because you'd clearly see that the UK is like the US where men outnumber women in all age groups from birth to 50 years. It the statistics were easier to find, people would see the supposed surplus of women for what it is: a myth.
It is a truth universally acknowledged that women heavily outnumber men in the dating arena; and the male sex is taking financial advantage of the fact.
This woman is described as a part time barrister (which sounds kind of like a cross between a para-legal and an attorney.) I presume she's childless. As for her complaint about not being able to afford his tastes, most single, childless, professional women work full-time. What's so special about her that makes her think she doesn't have to put in a full work week? I see someone with an extreme sense of entitlement who's pissed off because a man she thinks she's entitled to is not willing to play by her rules.
The fact is, just looking at the demographic data, this woman has plenty of options. And I would bet that those options present themselves to her on a regular basis. Her sense of entitlement is proof of that.
