Ali-B Conquests the Dominican Republic

Finally making progress. A girl at the bar last night introduced me to her sister. It was the second time there, and her sister showed up to see if I liked her. I did and her and the bartender sister gave me her number for a date today. Potentially have another date lined up on top of that.

I’ve been running HARD, and it’s only day 6. Learned a lot, enough to negotiate the taxi fares. Walked into another bar for the second time, but the chica wasn’t there, so I bought a couple of beers and shared with the girls. Went next door to the strip club, and it was dead, and the barkeep was smoking but not biting. The girls aren’t pushy, and I bought 2 cervecas y una rum, and shared with two chicas. They were happy, and one showed me a few Bachata steps.

I spent a good portion of yesterday hoofing it. All the way through the university area, and to the Colonial Zone. So what I’ve found so far:

This is the loitering capitol of the world. People just hang out and drink beer. I stopped at a liquor bought a beer and cooled off. It was nice.

Food prices range from $5-15 per meal. I ‘ve seen some really cheap places around the university area. A carton of smokes runs around $30 for American brands. Un Presidente Light grandee s 100-120 pesos en un jugar. Mas economico en supermarcado. And the prices of food there is really cheap. This is why I need a cocina. The meat looks of good quality. The soul food here is cheap, and is what I grew up eating. It also helps to adjust to the culture. They know how to throw down on some pinto beans. Honestly, I prefer that style of food over an expensive steak.
A 1/5 of Ron Barcello runs like $15-20 bucks. It’s the shit, and I recommend paying up for it. The cheap rum tastes like shit.

The dude at the hotel told me to stop stressing pussy, that it takes a little time get a good girl here, just pay for pussy until then. I refuse to give into the dark side. Talked to an American last night in the casino, that pays for it because he agreed that on a 4 day trip it was hard to land a local. Which makes me think that it is a little harder here than the Phils. I cold approached a girl in a biz skirt yesterday and got ignored. The middle class chicks need a little work. Read what ubannerd wrote.

With that being said, I’ve not been aggressive in my approaches. I’ve just been running around getting a lay of the area, and looking for and apartmento. And avoiding hookers. Be careful here, as it is around.

The community beer is awesome. You buy a beer and ask the girls if they want some. They always say yes and bring out little plastic cups. People aren’t standoffish, and having someone to always drink with is nice. And more importanto, it helps me practicar mi espanol.

The bright idea not to bring some jewelry was fucking stupid. I have a cheap necklace and a couple of rings, but a nice watch or bracelet is a status thing here.

Be careful when a taxi driver tries to hook you up with a girl. They’ll bring you a hooker in regular clothes. That one cost me dinner. If she’s not a straight up hooker, she’ll be poor girl looking to get pregnant, and that’s worse. Jus sayin’.

The hotel guy is right, don’t trust anyone right off the bat. Establish a relationship first. Another taxi driver wants to hook me up, but swears she is legit, and a university student. Per our conversation I believe him. He’s not aggressive on the hustle, but had asked if I had a novia yet, and was surprised I didn’t. Fuck, I’m surprised myself.

I’m tired of being told I’m bonito. It’s making me self-conscience. Shits driving me up the wall. The humidy is wrecking my hair. It is a certified 100% 70’s Jewish Afro. Horrible. It’s so bad a taxi driver was trying to pet it so it would go down.

Last night I flirted with the Hard Rock chicas but got nowhere. Bishes. Amazing to go into a Hard Rock and not see any Americans. In fact, you’ll only see Americanos in the casinos, and they walk back to the pimp houses. Being from the U.S. brings a little status here. I didn’t see that one coming.

Wardrobe advice. Bright colors works well here. I have some vibrant Express dress shirts that get compliments. Aviators do well also. My Nason’s are killing it and people make comments. A lot. Suit game will kill it, but avoid during the day. It’s too hot.

I have two pairs of white linen pants, like what the locals pimp. With a slim fit polo, and black Nason’s it will bring me to a new level. I’m waiting on that one though. Not time to bring out the big guns yet. Dudes dress well here, so don’t be rolling down with shorts and tank tops. No es bueno.

***EDIT*****
I typed this shit this morning. DON'T bring expensive jewelry. The locals wear it but don't get fucked with. Bring cheap shit like leather trinkets.

This is not the Philippines. It requires work and Spanish. Definitely p4p but if you want normal chicas be prepared. Stay tuned. Fuck you bitches I'm tired.
