Male-dominated industries like finance, tech, law, etc will never be big in Miami, relative to cities like NYC, Chicago, SF, Boston, etc.

Miami's trying to transform itself into a contemporary tech hub. There were some tech things around Wynwood. It'll fail.

I've never been anywhere that people trust each other less than Miami... even Craigslist doesn't work since everybody is so used to scamming each other, or defending against scams. You can't get scalable entrepreneurial effort off the ground when people backstab each other for a few hundred bucks. "Sunny weather, shady people."

That said, Miami's not that expensive for an urban area. An awesome condo in Brickell is ~300000. If you have a seven-figure stash you can live in Miami, doing whatever and live off that interest.
