If you haven't done washes consistently I would try that first, because those surgery have just a little over 50/50 success rate and for sure lots of pain during recovery. I do sinus washes semi daily to keep them away. Its kinda a pain in the butt to do and got a little costly. I use a machine kinda like a waterpic which is great. Fortunately I found a good supplier for the saline rinse solution because that was getting expensive.
EDIT: The machine I use is called SinuPulse, great pulsating irrigation system. The solution I use is called Simple Saline Solution by Medical ITG, super fine so doesn't burn, natural sea salt, and its really cheap.
