The purpose of wanting people to know where you are is so they can possibly come to meet you. If you have a smartphone, you can already access a person's Facebook profile. I think the "recommended friends" thing is that FB automatically suggests people that are friends of friends. You could fix your settings so that only people you've accepted as friends can view any information on your page. I suppose you could remove your location, in terms of what city and state you live in. But what I meant was that people actually update from a mobile device posting EXACTLY where they are, like a club or restaurant, complete with uploaded pics from their phones...
