I will be visiting Brazil between December/January and it turned out that a friend of mine (not Brazilian) lives in the city of Sorocaba 2 hours away from Sao Paolo.
Would it be a good idea to spend a couple of days there in the first half of January?
I see that 2nd/3rd tier cities in Brazil are quite appreciated on the forum, yet I am a bit concerned that this place may be empty due to Brazilian vacation time.
I speak basic Portuguese.
