Where? In Brazil for example you are not expected to do that and women will likely not like or feel uncomfortable if you do anyway. Most will right away offer to share the bill, but there are also many using strategies to not pay anything ever and every man move away of those unless he is a complete loser. I must say i don't date poor women, their behavior may be different but overall it will not be.
Only thing you are expected to pay over here is transport if bringing her from a place to another one that you suggested.
Things like "can i pay you a drink?" do not exist here, and if a woman asks for it she will get the drink and pretend she does not know you anymore.
