I think if its long-distance, if you just stick with texting, you will eventually fizzle out. I think it is key to call and chat on whatsapp every once in a while, and discuss plans about how you plan to visit her in the near future to keep the flame alive. Maybe even make up that you will be visiting her country in a few months (even if you have no intention on it) and then just talk about how unfortunately you weren't able to do it - if she likes you this will make her depressed and she will start getting into you even more. It can be a huge build-up for when you eventually visit and go for the bang.
