I have a new laptop coming and plan to roll with a Linux desktop for the first time. I've used Windows as my desktop the last 20 years but I can't stand it any longer. From system apps constantly taking all my cpu or memory resources doing who the fuck knows what and constantly forced to have Windows Updates install all the time. In addition, I don't have confidence that Microsoft won't spy on me or sell my data even without my consent.
