Is it a fact that products are cheaper online comparing to high street stores?

My question is mainly about where is cheaper to shoop (online vs high street stores) but please feel free to point out some stores in NY where is real cheap to buy goods.
What are you looking for exactly? Most cases online. PayPal can protect you from frauds too.
Re: clothes. Know your exact measurements b/c online returns( some return policies incl transit time to you, getting RMA's, etc) can be annoying.
Re: electronics. New or used ebay and amazon, as other said are veritable goldmines. I got a pair of the Dr. Dre Beat headphones, when they first came out for $50.00, new in box. A mall in Long Island wanted the same thing 149.00. I buy parts for my Elantra from a Hyundai car part store in Michigan as they're 40% cheaper then my dealer who I just pay labor to install them.
