James Franco to Play Pick-Up Artist in "The Game" (Neil Strauss)

Honestly the book's own plot kind of writes itself for a blue pill movie. Mystery is the charismatic master with women but turns out to have severe untreated bipolar disorder. The author ends up settling down with a nice lady and is finally happy once he treats her like a hu-mon instead of doing any game stuff. Then all the other game guys are portrayed extremely negatively by the author. Tyler Durden is a sociopathic manipulator, the asian guy was a sperg just trying to run the game stuff as a business seminar scam, and the other guys were made out to be pathetic dorks that just turned into pathetic dorks with funny clothes. I think one of the guys in the book had an anxiety disorder where he couldn't pee in urinals or something.

The author clearly had contempt for all these people, and in the book it's either outright contempt or covered by a veneer of pretending to feel sorry for them. In reality I think the author was an extrovert in the first place, he had a job interviewing celebrities or something that would only be done by a person with an extrovert personality. Thus, you have a narrative coming from an extrovert, which is going to be "well jeez, why don't you spazzes just act normal?" To borrow vox day's terminology, The Game is Gamma male writing wherein the author is just so superior to everyone else in the book. He can't help but paint the other characters' problems as insurmountable character flaws while he still gets the perfect woman at the end because he's the secret king.

We definitely aren't going to see a movie that accepts a premise that men can alter their behavior and become inherently more attractive. In the best case it will be that men can fake behavior to be more attractive but they're really still scared little nerds inside and in truth unattractive. Worst case they paint everyone except the author as being manipulative sex perverts that seduce women just to abuse them because of misogyny.

The Game end with happy ending with nice blue pill taste. It will be easy for Hollywood to make the movie PC enough for their taste.

There one lesson I got from the game and to this day trying to get a handle every since I read it, about 5 years ago, was focusing on handling your personal problems. Strauss point out with Mystery, which was my biggest takeaway, was the need to handle your issues. Strauss never told reader how to do this. I was able to learn it by read the Rational Male, Rollo taught me that having proper Frame of yourself was key.
