Responding to Samseau's gratuitously mean-spirited remarks, let me quote from Volume 2, Chapter XI of the Victorian sexual memoir My Secret Life by "Walter": "A woman is such a fool that she must tell some one everything". "Walter" may have been a sexual sociopath, and a distinctly weird prose stylist as well, but he had a certain wisdom about the ways of humanity, and this particular homely observation of his corresponds very closely to my own experience of life.
I think the likelihood that this girl will tell someone what's going on--out of personal pride as much as for any other reason--and that the beta boyfriend and/or the university administration will find out as a result, is pretty high. And that's not even including the likelihood that the boyfriend and/or the university administration might find out without her confessing anything to anybody.
