How do you deal with depression? But depression is part of life, and I'm personally going through it since a few days.
The human mind cannot stay "up" all the time. That is called being manic and is self-destructive. If all a girl wants is a comedian, then drop her. A stroll through the depths of her soul can barely make the bottom of your shoes damp.
I'm a professional counselor and true depression is a complex and crushing syndrome that is more than just the normal up and down cycles humans experience on a regular basis. True depression can spring from one of four arenas: physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual, but eventually impacts all aspects of a person.
At that point you need a team: a medical doctor, a psychologist/psychiatrist, a true friend, and a spiritual advisor (pastor/priest/rabbi) working together to find the actual source of the depression and begin the process of pulling you out. Start with a professional to see if you have true depression or are confusing downtime of a normal emotional cycle as depression. Good luck.
