As others have said, there is not much you can do once things reach this point. And if this happens, it's usually because the chick just doesn't like you all that much (I know she gave all the signs that she liked you before; these were either false or she changed her mind--don't try to make sense of it). The way to prolong the relationship is to mix things up--keep her on her toes by being unpredictable, giving her dread game and drama, keeping her guessing. Basically the poon commandments. But for this to work she has to have a genuine liking for certain aspects of your personality or your game.
Yes, you can wait 4-6 months (no contact) and text them to try to restart things. It probably won't work but the investment is so low you might as well.
