That goes a long way to restoring a birth rate. Making it raise social status the larger a family a woman or man has.
The West no longer ascribes any value to this. In fact its always talked of negatively, like 'it costs a lot and you get nothing for it'. In Japan's case I guess it detracts from them hiding in offices, which is more gratifying to them than anything else life has to offer for some reason. I'd be amused to see the birthrate stay low if the Emperor start awarding medals and titles to women based on number of children and age of marriage and first child etc.
