Some of the best places for beach game in california:
Venice beach(just don't go in the water because it is filthy) has a boardwalk and is packed with a friendly hipster vibe,
La Jolla(or really any of the big san diego beaches were nice),
Sands beach in santa barbara(fantastic for gaming the local co eds, especially if you are going to ucsb),
Laguna beach was really nice but not very crowded every time I went, not a lot of targets to game, maybe too upscale and not really densely populated enough?)
I have not spent that much time in Manhattan beach
I did not like Santa Cruz beach boardwalk the last time I went(maybe 20 years ago) because it was filthy and run down, but I have not been there in forever.
Ventura beach? only driven past, can't comment.
