I did not participate in the nightgame there but I did walk by. I'm a game novice but do well in prearranged 1 on 1 dates (internet game). The apartments directly to the South across the canal look very nice and would recommend that neighborhood. If you can afford it, it would probably be a good option. Daytime at Gorky park may not be too far off as well to pull to here. I stayed at Kadashevskaya Hotel which is semi close as well. Go for it.
