Vechain (VEN) Thread - bigolteddies - 12-29-2017

Anyone know anything about this. I found out about it today and it looks very promising with a solid team. They basically are looking into certain industries to help reduce counterfeiting, I don't fully understand it though. Just bought in today since there is supposed to be news tomorrow morning.

I bought in a few weeks ago. They have incredible partnerships compared with other coins around their market cap. Here is a post from reddit:

“One thing that’s become clear is that Partners should not be taken on face value alone, DNV GL is arguably one of the market leaders in business assurance, but what does that mean to the average investor? Have you heard of DNV? I hadn’t, until VeChain.

The same goes for PriceWaterhouseCoopers - now that’s a name I’ve heard of, but surely that’s just their accountants right? Wrong.

PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) was once assumed to be ‘just their accountant’ as part of an inaccurate statement made by a competing project. As one of the ‘Big 4’ their reach is not fully understood, but it is safe to assume they have clients on national and international scale and consult with not just companies, but governments themselves.

Digging a little deeper, an area of particular interest since the most recent news came to light about VeChain’s involvement in China's Gui’an District mandated by the Chinese Government themselves, is just how wide the sphere of influence of PwC is in this sector -

PricewaterhouseCoopers were also appointed in 2016 as a consultant to Hong Kong: “...Moving forward to developing Hong Kong into a people-centric smart city, we set our vision for Hong Kong to be“Smart Hong Kong - Embracing innovation and technology to build a strong economy, enhance quality of living and make Hong Kong a well-known Smart City”

They are also working with India on a similar proposition- https://www.pwc.in/industries/smart-cities.html

Assuming the Gui’an District is their first real-world implementation, could it be that Smart Cities in India and Hong Kong also adopt VeChain in the long run?

Sunny Lu and the team at VeChain have picked their partners meticulously - not just because of what VeChain can do for them, but what doors this opens up for them to work with their own clients. This seems to be highly calculated and very clever strategically.

I can imagine now when Sunny Lu or another VeChain team member first met with these prospective partners, some kind of distraction took place and one of the time rummaged through an executive’s desk to find their ‘little black book’ of clients - maybe even a key decision as to whether or not VeChain wanted to partner with them, was just how many doors this could open!

I wonder what we might find when we open DNV GL’s little black book?”

Overall, they seem like they have a lot of potential. Vechain also has a lot of announcements planned in the the next few days and weeks.

I'm going in hard on this one.

I hope I can get up to 10k VET/VEN before it gets stupidly pricey, as if this thing works running a node will be profitable.

That said, I'm expecting this one to be a moonshot. $50 by end of 2018.

Last time we had a thread like this it was for RaiBlocks and I ignored it, and missed out on giant money.

Not making that mistake this time.

Here is a link to the latest announcement about VeChain using a two coin system.

https://medium.com/@vechainofficial/vech...4111a93278

Here is an excerpt: “The basic principle for designing this model is to prevent transaction fees from being directly exposed to the volatility in price of VeChain tokens (VET), making the VeChain Thor blockchain more suitable for conducting business/financial activities for both ordinary, enterprise, and government users.
It means no matter how high the value of VET becomes in the near future, our ecosystem will still function as intended”

This blog post by a VeChain insider also fuels rumours of a People’s Bank of China partnership:

I found this baby back in October I believe and knew it was a gem (got in around .20$). I've recently pulled all of my shitcoins and smaller plays into VeChain until Feb. the ride is going to be insane.

Vechain (VEN) Thread - Lampwick - 01-03-2018

I jumped in yesterday, and I'm up about 20% so far. The dominant narrative on reddit is that whales are manipulating the price downward, and that lack of exchange adoption is keeping the price low. Supposedly, VEN will be added to Bittrex and Korean exchanges soon, which could pump the price. There is also a VEN contest on Binance running until midnight UTC on Friday, which may be affecting the price:

The team around VEN is announcing all kinds of partnerships. It's hard to tell what the actual substance or plan is, but it seems like they will generate a lot of attention. High market cap at 800M+, but I think this one has some room to run.

VeChain looks to be much more than just an app for luxury goods. You guys better get in quick!

Can shortly explain where i get paid as an investor?

Where is the value as an investor of supporting this project?

I do see the value of roads, but unless i am able to put up a toll plaza. I wont get paid for investing in one.

"To reduce this" is not a huge market at all.

And anyone can launch such project, no need to shower them with your hard earned money.

How can you know that all those "news" are not paid advertorials,
as most other wbesites do as well?

And I thought on RVF everyone hates reddit, why all of the sudden you give sources from reddit?

On top of all these, Vechain "team" is anonymous, doesn't even appear on their website.

Looks like all vechain invested in is false marketing hype.

Vechain (VEN) Thread - SamuelBRoberts - 01-03-2018

All Crypto is false marketing hype, dude. Get with the game.

Ya, definitely don't buy it Kuros.

The "team" is a bunch of Chinese devs backed by a couple of experienced C level execs and probably a bunch of money.

Not sure if this is right, but the market cap of VeChain is almost 850 million, which is already pretty high.

So in order to get to $50 by the end of 2018, VeChain would need to appreciate by almost 20x, putting the market cap ~15 billion.

Wouldn't that be pretty unlikely for this kind of a project?

Vechain (VEN) Thread - Giacomo Casanova - 01-03-2018

It seems like it is another coin ready for mooning. Great project and awesome partnerships. Could be soon in the top 20. Good catch OP!

Vechain (VEN) Thread - Vienna - 01-03-2018

Just bought some. My first crypto speculation, been creeping this subforum for too long without taking action. Best of luck to you all.

Vechain (VEN) Thread - Lampwick - 01-03-2018

Ouch, Binance just shit the bed. Almost 70% of VEN volume is on Binance.

Vechain (VEN) Thread - Fortis - 01-03-2018

Fearless ven coindogger reporting in.

Also, the Vechain team isn't anonymous. Didn't Sunny Lu just do a youtube AMA?

There is some cool shit going on with vechain coming down the pipe. Supposed Gov contracts and all sorts of things. China rvfers know how bad the counterfeiting problem is here. Shit's gonna pop off for sure. All-in-Ven!

I've even got a few buds who were straight up FUDing VEN now in on it.

Anyway, $100 ven here we go.

Vechain (VEN) Thread - Travel Museums - 01-03-2018

Binance won’t even load. All Bittrex Wallets under maintenance. I was afraid of this.

Vechain (VEN) Thread - Fortis - 01-03-2018

Binance is back up.
