I was thinking the exact same the other day. This summer I've seen a ton of young girls not even in puberty wearing really low cut shorts indistinguishable from adult fashion.

Edit: If I had kids they would be sent to a school with uniforms. No way, I would participate in the sick fashion/brand culture of pre-teen children and the disgusting companies that prey on them. I've noticed if the subject of uniforms is brought up, it always meets fierce resistance from women. Something about being allowed to express your personality. An absurd proposition when we're talking about 10 year olds. It's just another way for parents to signal how cool they are through their children and in turn teach their daughters to exclude others based on superficial qualities.

Revealing or not, it's distracting and a disruption to classroom instruction. No arguments can be made to justify attention-whore attire. Can't blame heat, that region is not Jackson, MS and schools are often over air conditioned. Can cite personal expression, individuals this age are not introspective enough to dress in ways that represent their personalities (and it's pretty fucking stupid for adults to do as well). They either dress for comfort, what they think is cool, or what they think will impress their peers.

Bottom line, a dress code is implemented to prevent distraction. A student is no more allowed to wear a ten gallon hat, a shirt with strobe lights, and I'm sure this father and countless childless women imposing their perversions would not permit boys from going shirtless during recess or wearing only shorts to class (unless, of course, those 12-year-olds already knew they were "gay" or identified as a girl).
