Girls kicked out of prep school for racist social media posts - SlickyBoy - 09-09-2017

Sometimes the pussy pass doesn't work. Some young teenage girls using snapchat got busted when one of their un-tech savvy idiot friends posted some of the messages on Twitter.

Quote:Quote:

MICDS students who exchanged racist Snapchats appear to have been expelled
The high school freshmen who exchanged racial and sexual slurs on Snapchat messages that were leaked to the public this weekend appear to have been expelled from Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School.

In a letter to the public released Thursday, head of MICDS Lisa Lyle wrote:

“It was determined that none of these students can remain in our community because their conduct violated our most deeply held values, was contrary to our Mission and harmed our community in significant ways.”

The controversy began Sunday, when a senior at the elite private school posted on Twitter leaked screenshots of a private Snapchat conversation in which at least four freshman girls exchanged racial and sexual slurs, including the N-word. Another student referenced submitting an application to the Ku Klux Klan. In a later exchange, one of the students claimed to a fellow student that “we were all joking.” (EDIT: Likely true - I seriously doubt any of them planned on joining the Klan...)

The school’s decision Thursday followed a three-day disciplinary investigation.

Many responded to the Snapchats with outrage. On Tuesday, one NAACP board member called for the students’ expulsion. (EDIT: Gotta wonder - has the NAACP ever called for the expulsion of a black student for the same thing?)

Others on social media questioned the newsworthiness of the incident and said the girls had simply made a mistake that didn’t deserve such a severe punishment.
(EDIT: Uh huh.)

But Lyle said the students’ intentions aren’t a valid excuse for the impact of their actions.

“These decisions are never easy. I have anguished over making the decision. But the reality is, I have to weigh both the intent of a given set of behaviors and actions and the impact of those on our community (EDIT: And the rest of the pissed off uber-leftist parents - some of whom may be black, plenty of others Jewish who pay tuition...) ,” Lyle said in a phone interview. “We have to always remember that our words and our responsibility extend beyond the intent to the impact.”

Experts have said that independent schools have license to discipline students even if it’s for private social media use, as long as the student’s behavior violates the school’s rules. MICDS’ student handbook prohibits “insulting, abusive, or degrading language based on an individual’s race or color … or other protected characteristic” in both verbal conduct and social media.

Lyle’s letter cites the school’s integration during the Civil Rights era, saying its “student body today is the most diverse it has ever been, with 34 percent of students who identify as people of color.” (EDIT: Bingo.)

Tuition ranges from $19,950 at the preschool to $27,300 at the high school, but the school says it provides more than $4 million in need-based financial aid to 23 percent of its students, drawing in students from more than 60 ZIP codes.

In addition to holding high school and middle school assemblies about the Snapchats, MICDS educators have been teaching high school students this week about the history of racism, white supremacy, white privilege and the N-word, according to Lyle. (EDIT: No doubt, in an even handed, guilt trip free, and most logical manner....)

Next week, MICDS teachers will begin a yearlong cultural competency training on “bias, anti-racism, whiteness” and related topics. (EDIT: Here we go again....)

In spite of the students being in their early teens and female, the school almost immediately expelled them. I think it's bull, since after all they were teenagers and teens do stupid things, they didn't deserve an expulsion. But on the flip side it's at least reasonable to assume they were not treated differently than teenage boys caught doing the same thing. But when it's up against race based allegations, It looks like even the pussy pass ain't enough.

Girls kicked out of prep school for racist social media posts - Number one bummer - 09-09-2017

Schools are slowly trying to dictate how their students act outside of the classroom and extending their power to private speech. The school says it provides "4 million in financial aid" which should read as, "we pay for minorities to attend our school for muh diversity," then they wonder why people develop contempt for the said free-loaders. There was a school district near my old house that had similar issue. Some kid posted a photo of a gun on instagram with song lyrics that alluded to shooting the school. He was expelled, every student that commented, even if they commented negatively, was suspended, and anyone that liked it was given a detention.

Is there anyone here that wouldn't be in trouble if private conversations between their friends were made public while attending school?

Girls kicked out of prep school for racist social media posts - debeguiled - 09-09-2017

This girls are having their "grab her by the pussy" moment.

Don't they know that all speech is public now?

It is hard to have sympathy for them, either for their intent or their stupidity.

Did they think SnapChat would protect their privacy?

There is no longer any room for reckless language, and there is no longer the concept of saying things just to shock, or just to be naughty. There is no longer room to be a thoughtless teenager.

Welcome to the internet-speed learning curve, bitches. You two are done, and you haven't even had a chance to talk any guys into suicide yet.

And get this, they were ratted out by a guy. He had to choose between social justice and the friend zone, and guess what won?

It is getting tough to be a chick if you can't even trust beta orbiters anymore:

Dillon Scott, a 17-year-old senior, was the student who posted the Snapchat screenshots. When he first read the messages, which had been received by one of his fellow students, he said he was so traumatized that he couldn’t think of anything else for the rest of the day.

“I couldn’t leave my voice unheard,” Dillon said. He tweeted the four screenshots to MICDS with the charge: “Handle this.”

Imagine telling your headmaster to 'Handle this!"

Imagine grassing and then saying: "I couldn't leave my voice unheard."

This dork can't even tattle right.

If I pay for 27k for private school and they have the nerve to waste my kids with the teachings of "white privilege" that should of been the first red flag.

I would rather have them in public school and put 27k towards a college fund.

This kid either:

A. Escaped the friendzone in epic fashion. A burst of fury over 4+ years of pining for these chicks. He probably heard about his "true love" blowing her ex boyfriend at the football game while he was at the concession stand buying her nachos. He snapped.

or

B. He's gay and chicks stopped spending time with him once they got boyfriends.

Either way, I'm sure he thought he'd be some local hero. Instead he'll always be the "dork who couldn't even tattle right".

Private schools used to be worth it because they avoided that nonsense and kept the bad element out. Now, it seems they're giving them full scholarships. And the "bad element" are now the teaching staff.

If I were putting that kind of money away, unless the kid got into a good school to study a worthwhile subject that could only be learned in a university (engineering, computer science, pre-med, etc.), it gets locked up in a trust fund until he's about 30 with explicit restrictions on its use. Can't stomach the idea of paying any amount to fund left wing activism more than I'm forced via taxation already.

Well the reach of this forum is amazing!

Former Mary Institute grounds crewman right here!!! I worked there for maybe a month.

First off, let me tell you that school is in a part of St. Louis that you do not got to if you are not white, unless you play for the Cardinals, and are wearing your uniform.

Probably a lot has changed since the early nineties with all the civil rights movements and whatnot, so I could be totally wrong now, but I doubt it.

That school was a lot like the college I went to. They want you to think they are liberal and progressive, but in actuality they are as far right as it gets. These are the sons and daughter of the St. Louis elites that elected John Ashcroft for Christ sakes. Its a big ruse.

You can read the messages here: https://www.riverfronttimes.com/newsblog...e-at-micds

The problem with those messages is not the racial slurs. The problem is that one of the girls expressed her love for a certain color dick. Plain and simple. Let's use the veil of diversity to block out the fact that we don't want girls like that on our cheer team.

I have many more thoughts and info about this situation, that school and the St. Louis area, but just so you are a little informed, that 4 Million spent on student aid is a nice way of saying their varsity offensive line, and entire basketball team get scholarships.

Notice it says 34 percent of the students "identify" as people of color in the post dispatch article. I really doubt those numbers reflect what the kids actually are. There's no way that many black kids are getting through the ladue police on a daily basis.

Aloha!

Explains your obsession with lawns.

Girls kicked out of prep school for racist social media posts - Repo - 09-09-2017

Its less the schools trying to dictate behavior than the students trying to dictate behavior. A student leaked these with the intent that this would happen. The students are simply getting the school they asked for.

Kids shouldn't be punished for something at school if it happens outside of school, beat up some faggoty nerd on the weekend? The school shouldn't be concerned.

The far-leftists just want everyone to turn into a snitch against everyone else for all infractions, no matter how big nor small. They have no sense of proportionality.

Wow - thanks for the perspective, Kona! That this story made national news is pretty pathetic, but not as pathetic as the soy eating orbiter who snitched on the bitches.

I guess being permanently friend zoned was one thing, but he only got truly flustered once he realized they might actually like the dark meat, solidifying the reality that he'd have no chance of a parking lot smoothie. Then he hides behind sanctimonious posturing about racism to justify his being a worm. He'd fit right in as one of the "male" characters on Game of Thrones. Slimy little bastard.

I'm not sure the NAACP or the rest of the adults who piled on demanding expulsion were really concerned with the sexual preferences of the girls, but that aspect definitely clouded the picture a bit. There wasn't an non-NSFW way to report those details in broadcast news, but I did have to wonder why the slurs would come up among a private discussion of a group of young prep school girls.

Sometimes it's funny how the PHOOP works. Females are sometimes higher on it. This time, racial minorities are higher.

What is PHOOP? It's the Progressive Hierarchy Of Oppressed Peoples. If you are at the top of PHOOP, you are always right. Everything is excused. If you are at the bottom or not on it at all, you are always wrong.

After thinking about this over night i think the education system and parents have failed these girls.
Yeah they made some very bad choices on what jokes to tell, but i think they might not know the gravity and seriousness of the comments they made.

Making fun of black people who were slaves 150+ years ago is not a good thing to do. Isn't that the reason why some people are bent out of shape over what they said?

I know i said some dumb shit when i was younger and realized as i got older that it was fucked up to say that shit, but the school/ my mother didn't really go out of their way to talk about subjects like these in a productive way.

The lack of a stale father probably didn't help this situation either.

Glad that schools are taking active steps to combat racism. More importantly, this is more about cyber-bullying. Hoping to see more efforts for this cause.

That's because schools are still designed to turn children into compliant little employees and consumers, and the future needs of society will include a populace accepting its private conversations will be monitored either by the government or -- worse -- by their employer.

Me, I read those messages and I read a bunch of giggly 13 year old kids getting hysterical over a joke that was never really that funny but which took on its own life, as some jokes do. Someone who looks at that set of e-mails and believes the girls are seriously pronouncing they want a black sausage train run on them or actually want to join the KKK most likely doesn't have kids or doesn't spend time around them. Or is a high school educator.

And unfortunately, this is going to backfire if the school thinks it's going to "teach the kids a lesson". Because the lesson the girls learn from this is that the perception is more important than the reality, i.e. the biggest fucking problem with the world today. And they also learn that if the government/employer/authority figure above them suffers a slight to its reputation, the individual must pay for it, i.e. lese majesty exists and you are guilty of it if you step outside your assigned box in the institution.

Teenagers already think with perception foremost because they're teenagers, i.e. developmentally narcissists, but they've just had it reinforced to them by the one body that should be trying to restrain that impulse. The one way they could have done this would have been to put the kids into a meeting with someone who has actually felt the impact of those words and can tell them how it felt for him to read that stuff. And even then it would come across as phony in classic Holden Caulfield style.

This they haven't done. Instead they've gone with the time-honoured and stupid tradition of assemblies to browbeat the kids about another kid's behaviour. It's stupid on this simple proof: can you remember one lecture from your school principal to your class from school when a scandal hit (as they invariably do) in which you actually gave a shit about what the principal had to say, or in which the principal's frown got you to change your behaviour?

Another feminist tool outed. Nice job, mods. They should just let Google and the rest of silicon valley do the social manipulating for them - they're much better at it and way less obvious.
