Traits, Skills and Attributes You Respect in the Modern Man - RIslander - 05-17-2016

I've recently been thinking about what the ideal "most interesting man in the world" presence requires. A list of skills and attributes that gives a man a reputation for being a man women want to fuck and men want to be. I've come up with a list and welcome any additions.

1. Fitness. Maintain a lean body with solid muscle mass. Think Crossfit athlete. 5'10 185 pounds and 12% body fat. While I respect bodybuilders I think having a utility-based body is more useful.

2. Fastidious. You maintain a spotless abode, impeccable hygiene and have a certain way of doing things. People respect your discipline.

3. Participation in a martial art. Krav maga, jujitsu, boxing, firearms proficiency. You can hold your own in a fight.

4. Music. You can play a musical instrument. Preferably something elegant such as the piano or mandolin. Electric Guitar is also a great move. Being able to jam out Joe Satriani style would move heads.

5. Foreign language. You speak something exotic such as Russian, Japanese or Thai.

6. Career. You are passionate about what you do and are respected among your peers. Salary is irrelevant but you don't have financial problems.

7. Women. You're often seen with an attractive women hanging over you. You could be a family man with a wife or a player with a harem. You maintain dominant body language while shes all over you. She doesn't have to be a knockout but is pretty, sweet and feminine. People will respect you far more for having a 7 on your arm with the above traits rather than a cunt of a 9.

8. Knowledge. You take up a study such as biology, history or politics. You're an unofficial expert in the field.

These are the traits I highly respect in other men.

I honestly thought the title of this thread was sarcastic, and that we were going to talk about Pajama Boy:

This men is the 0,0001%

Agree. Lame.

How about butchering a cow or being a NASA test pilot?

He did say "ideal." Right there in the first sentence. Basically sounds like the modern version of a renaissance man.

Good list but sounds too much like the Manosphere version of "He's a Doctor from a good family, who graduated top of his class at X University. He's single and owns a condo in the city & summer house in Cape Cod. ".

Nothing on that list except number 6 (career you are truly passionate about) is necessary. Yes it might impress people but a jacked body, a martial art, foreign language, musical instrument, pussy falling on his lap or expertise in History or Politics does not make a man happy; unless it's something he really wants to do.

To answer your question ... having the courage to do what you want and live life on your own terms is universally respectable and attractive.

I think being in excellent shape can be a huge driver of happiness. At least for me it is from the confidence perspective alone. Also, keeping my place and car always spotless and dressing well makes me feel good about myself.

Specialization is for insects."

That about sums it up.

Might as well lock this up and go off the NASA Test Pilot thread.

I would add some basic proficiency with firearms to that list.

I dunno about "fastidious"... Sounds a bit gay.

Plenty of 9s who aren't cunts, brother.

Was just thinking of the same thing. Technically speaking, you could have all 8 elements from the OP's list and still be a raging SJW cuck who drinks organic kale juice and votes for Hillary.

Number 9 on that list would have to be something social skills-related. Something like the ability to understand how life works and to accept the world around us as it is, not as you would like it to be.

#1 - Honesty

First thought I had was when a younger guy has absolutely zero online presence. No facebook, no snapchat, no instagram etc.
Probably only has a hotmail account from high school that he uses only when he absolutely has to.

All the guys I know like that lead some sort of life I respect. They do cool stuff on weekends, usually physically active and have great stories.

I mean, I was kidding...it was a reference to that "if you have kids with a woman of another race, you're an ancestral cuck" thread.

How to fix and repair things. Cars, electronics, home appliances, carpentry, plumbing, electrician, gun/tool building skills

I really really admire professionals who have dedicated themselves to building amazing expertise in some field and then leveraged that expertise to make a good living for themselves.

It is a great pleasure to speak with someone who really knows wtf they are doing, and also respects themselves enough to make a good living doing it.

I am in no way looking down on the painter or musician who makes great music, but perhaps may not make a good dollar. This can be amazing in its own right. However, the difference is that people in these fields often become successful due to their sheer love of this endeavor, rather than due to the hunger and drive - they don't care much about the money, or often the success. However, the people that make good money doing what they do - you know they are dedicated and their frame is solid, because the road to riches typically involves working in and understanding many different areas (management, tax, business, sales, etc), very often besides the fields which they initially had a love for.

Totally agree. Make and mend, civilisation is built on it.

The ability to copy/paste is very important, it seems.
